I'm considering whether i should or should not. The past years, I've bought Fifa Manager, but this year it looks quite nice.

Today it was announced that FM 2013 comes out at 2nd of November.. But:
If you pre-order the game at SI games retail partners (amazon.co.uk will be fine), you will be able to download some kind of a beta of the game 2 weeks earlier (19th of October) Network mode will be missing but their new stuff will be in it already.
I guess the FM 2013 will be my very first FM, as I am living in "Clueless Valley" called Germany.. Where EA forbids because of the exclusive Bundesliga license to make any kind of a German league in the game.. The last FM that was allowed to be sold in Germany was 2006 I guess.
I am playing the FM 2012 demo with Celtic to get into the game and it's very diffrent.
Somehow I can't make a very decent multiple formations..
The only formation I use is 4-4-2 because very other formation were not that good.
For example a 4-2-3-1 with the 3 midfielders as 3 attacking midfielders in the middle or spead out or the 2 midfielders as defensive midfielders or central midfielders.. With that I can't score but the 4-4-2 is ok..
If I use the standard training (General, Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielders and Strikers) some players are still complaining about the hard training.. My custom ones were harder and somehow there weren't more players that were complaining when they had the harder (custom) training stuff.
At least Celtic is 1st at the Scottish Premier League even though the Rangers without the minus 10 would be first but it's not my problem

I would have, but I'm expecting the Man-Game files to screw up my computer this year, so I didn't. |

Which team do you find more challenging for the first try at the 2013 version? UD Levante, Deportivo Coruña or Blackburn Rovers? I really can't decide, so I'd like to know your opinion. |

Yeah, would be nice, plus they've got an interesting team in the 2nd Division. I might make a save with all of them teams, but perhaps I'll start with the Rovers. |

Thats the first FM for me, pre-ordered it and played it a bit.
As it's the first FM I can't really comparing it to the older FMs but it plays much better than the FM12 demo.
But oh my Cologne 1st in media expectations whilst they are at the mid-field/end of the 2nd German League at this moment
Surprised that they have every player there even though I thought there would be greyed out players..
I guess I will start from new but with another team than Cologne, lost the first friendly match against Lustenau (guess somewhere in Austria) 1-3 Maybe the fitness training was too hard for them.
I don't think this is really a beta because it's very finished but the network game mode is missing. Hope that the first stuff from the community like jerseys or logos will come soon and maybe a J-League DB.

@ste the demo for FM13 is meant to be out over the weekend and Miles has said that they would have it available now if the office net connection didn't go down.
I've not got Fm13 yet. pre ordered it from game, haven't got beta code, not sure why but not entirely bothered by that as i'm still enjoying my fm12 Pennarossa save anyway. It looks really good and I'll most likely reattempt my twist on the San Marino Challenge again using Pennarossa. But before I do that I'll have to recreate the Campionato Sammarinese like I did for FM12.

Is it because of all the Portuguese players we signed out of nowhere?
Anyway, I am enjoying the game a lot. There was a fix for the match engine, so for a Beta, the game is fairly bug free.

to back up what I was saying about the demo there are these tweets from Miles.
so yeah, the demo should be available when BT fixes the net where the studio is.

Well, if it were of that, I'd chose Deportivo instead. I like the team, and I though it would be a bigger challenge to secure promotion than avoid relegation with Deportivo.
I'm waiting for the demo, as I'll be only be buying this for Christmas, so I hope it's quick since I've got nothing to do and I'm test-free! |

I haven't got FM12 as it's hard to get this in Germany because of the restrictions (last FM that was sold here was 2007) but played the demo to get into this manager. Also the only SI game I played was the Eastside Hockey Manager and I like to play manager/sports/racing games so:
I played the beta a lot and can't say you anything about it as it's a beta and with beta I mean really beta. A early version that isn't close to a release version.
Even though it's stable, there are some bugs and weirdnesses that prevents me to say "Yes buy it" or something else.
But I think I could say a lot more especially when the Match Engine is updated (which will be updated with the demo) as that was one (if not the only) of the major flaw parts. They changed the Engine from 13 a bit how it works so thats why that is/was? a problem.
The problem was that there are weird results etc. like a lot of goals especially after crosses. Also the goalkeepers made a lot of blunders, own goals etc.
I was somehow every often affected by this and not the CPU
I played the FM12 demo a lot and haven't struggled that much, but FM13 is much diffrent but I can't say if it would be diffrent when the Match Engine will be updated. Couldn't get any! team very good.
I had two promising save games with:
Cologne (the closest Bundesliga team and I was at some of their games) won the first 2 games but thanks to a bug with the team talk the team was against me and so lost every other game and I resigned because Cologne is stupid
Piast Gliwice (I know someone there personally) a Polish 1st league club that promoted and so have to stay at the 1st league. I played a very defensive formation with a very deep 4-2-3-1 and won even against Wisla Krakow (ok they struggled at the league) but I pulled off a Klopp and changed before a game the formation without training it a lot and everything collapsed..
But never got anything good, nevermind if I took a German, French (I tend to think it's not my fault ) or a Premier League team.
I have still to get into this game mainly because of the Training:
It was changed so there aren't fiddly columns but some people say it's worse because you can just train a role or position or attribute at the same time (focus). I think it's good as training was one of the things I really disliked at SI games (was also at Eastside Hockey Manager a problem for me).
But I don't know how you should train before the league starts also at the friendly games. Will make a save game with multiple saves so I will take 2 months to get a team ready for the friendly games.
The tactics are important to learn but I don't know if it will be learned just with the Match preparation column 10-50% of the training will go into that) or do I have to make the default preparation on tactics only so they learn them etc.
There are 2 new modes with Classic and Challenge:
Classic is something more straight as the "Management mode" as you have less things to do, for example special player instructions aren't there but they moved the "where the player tends to run" to the Classic mode so you still have some instructions.
Challenge mode has some challenges like you can't win with kids or injury prone team. There aren't a lot (haven't counted them but aren't over 10) of challenges but enough for bored players who would like some challenges.
Actually I was close to cancel the pre-order because of the bugs and order FM12 instead, but from what I read at the SI forums I think I will stay with FM13 hoping they will be better in fixing bugs than a lot of other developers.
