@Ian Butler:
I'll try, but domination like they currently do in smaller races wouldn't be fun as well. A short look at the DB I currently have installed (some Realname) shows there are between 10 and 15 riders over 70 in mountains and the same amount in hills in the Continental division, which makes up most of the numbers in .2 races.
So certainly not a mission impossible (dumm dumm duuduu dumm dumm duuduu....)

Sorry for the lecture!!!
Are you serious? That was awesome, no need for an excuse at all
I noticed Tewelde's good results in Langkawi, and I'll have a closer look at the stats when I know they are final.
Now, I have a question to all you guys that may follow this:
MTN - Qhubeka has two riders under contract since 27/06:
Jaco Venter (4th at Avenir 2009!)
https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...derid=4226
and Freqalsi Abrha Debesay
https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...erid=12275
What should I do with them?
A Add them right from the beginning.
B Add them the exact same date they join the team in real life.
C Not add them at all.
I'm completely unsure what to do, so your will will be executed (don't mess that up with "YOU will be executed" ).

I like Jaco Venter, so I'll go for "add them from the beginning"

B- Add him from the date.
Personally, Reinardt deserves a higher rating, but if I remember correctly this was Venter's rating (PCM2010 PCMDaily db):
Flat: 62 Mountain: 67/68 Hills: 71 Sprint: ~61 Acceleration: 66-68. TT: 62. Prologue:~64. Rec:~66. Res:~62.
Or something like that

So that's 3 for A and 2 for B so far.
@aidanvn13:
Jaco Venter is already in the DB, has these stats atm:

Can i ask before you start this story that you add more south african Riders as free agents or wait for a database with more riders/teams
Unfortunately the Original db is bad in that sense.
Does not have the below team.
https://teambonita...eTeam.aspx
They race in Europe, some really good riders on there as well. |

@Boet:
That is absolutely new to me
I actually didn't check, but I thought this name was too rare to be a coincidence. So they're not related at all?
And I definately plan to be Pro Continental next year as well
Haha, no... in South Africa, van Rensburg is as common a name as what Smith or John is in the UK! So no, not at all related... Saw an earlier post of yours about creating new upcoming riders. If u want it to be more realistic i could help with real names and the types of riders they are, as i know the african riders pretty well. |

4-2 in favour of A so far. Thanks for your participation
@Miguel98:
Well, he doesn't have many results to back up the stats aidanvn13 recalled. Maybe I balance both extremes.
@Spronx:
Let's see what the Daily DB has to offer
Bonitas has some interesting riders, thanks for the information
@Boet:
Good to know, I corrected it in my presentation.
I'll definately come back to you when it's time to look at young riders, great you want to help me out
About Potgieter: Realised that as well, don't know who came up with that idea

Me too! I could help with (young) RSA riders aswell! Also with ratings and so on. I'm on holiday in France to watch the Tour!!! As soon as I'm back, I'll work on a jersey for Bonitas. Just message me or post on this thread if you need help! |

@Spronx:
I'll definately try to copy&paste the important stuff over to the Daily DB, so even with my rather basic editing skills, I'm optimistic that it won't make much of a difference
So for all:
The team choice remains MTN. I'll use the stats from the OfficialRelease unless someone can point out obvious stat changes.
The need to edit the DB will most certainly postpone the start until early August, as I currently don't have the time to do that.

For stat changes maybe you should increase Reinardt stats, especially his sprint stat. As he has had 12 UCI wins so far this season, and he is returning to Europe in August. Most of these victories were in hilly sprints, so maybe he deserves a sprint boost above the current 68.

Isn't Venter a good sprinter? I think he needs a boost

If there's one thing I can't find about him on CQranking, then it's a notable sprint result
