if Zabel had won last year he'd have retired immediately. since he didn't he's riding this season and possibly the next.
besides, I remember Boogerd getting asked if he'd ride again if he won, and he answered he would do another season just to show the jersey off even if he had to go Continental

Good to know Boogerd is going to the Worlds. It would be a terrific way to end his career.
We should have a complete startlist of all the countries involved, and post it on the main page, with the flags and all the html nicely tidied up. I can do that... for a price.
My friend here thinks 5 euros should be enough for this kind of intellectual job. He should know better.
be realistic. Bush can't even spell "euro"

remember when Tony said "this heynous incident has brought us to the edge of oblivion, but our civilization shall endure!". there was poor George looking at him with a face that just said "shit, I can't even spell that..."

*sigh* Another aggressive post from Ruben when he thinks one of his idols is being criticised.
I dont read every single tiny bit of news about Boogerd. Not that it matters, he won't win the worlds anyway. My point still stands though, whats the point of having a world champion who will retire in April of the next season.

@ all you bashing Bush: He only pretends to be a rednecks he is actually Ivy League educated born in New England.
@ all of you who think that a non-american will win: Ha full of shite! Zabriskie or pate or Levi(if he rides) for the TT.
RR Levi Big George or Horner or Vande Velde seeing how good of shape he is in.

Ever since his crash early in the year Big George said he was going to win the Road Race. If results give you a peek into the final at the worlds then Big George won the Tour of Missouri and took second at US national Road Race. Levi won the Road Race and Took the TT at Missouri. Pate won stage 5 at missouri and 5th in the TT 2nd in the USPRO TT and 5th at USPRO RR. Vande Velde has been on the attack in the Vuelta all the time and says he is gonna wina stage this year. Horner is riding la Vuelta and made an astounding preformance in the Tour.this really has been a very good year for American Cycling hasn't it.

Agreed upon. Then again, looking at the age of George, Levi and Chris...it's about time for a change. The great names are soon to vanish.

George and Levi will likely be riding for another 3-4 years. Chris Horner has said he will also be racing for a few more yeras yet. So don't count them out until they say they are retiring. Americans can still rock while they are old. Davis phinney was an old fart when he retired and so is moninger who is only just retiring this year. Moninger won the NRC 2 years ago. Mike sayers is still at it probably for another 2 years and he is old.
Moral of the story being American's don't give up until they have done everything they can, and Moninger deffinitly won a lot of races.

Yeah, Pate is definetely going to win the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Time Trial. If it isn't him, it's going to be another American. 2nd place will be an American, and 3rd place will be an American.
Because Americans never quit. |
