Not a whole of faith in back to back winner Devolder huh?
Going out on a limb here, with Devolder as my no. 1 favourite to win it.

I'd love to see Devolder win. I miss the old him, but unless I've missed something (which is possible, haven't been following enough cycling atm) then I dont think he is coming into the race with better form than Boonen or Cancellara.

Why would we have any faith in a guy who hasn't even top 10'd a cobbled classic or semiclassic in the last two years?

because devolder rode very well the last few weeks.
Besides in the e3 and gw turned out to be sprints this year so very hard to top 10 in for devolder |

Very well? I remember him doing a half-hearted attack in the E3 and then being caught seconds later. Then, apart from a good stage in T-A (the one with the circuit in Offida iirc) don't remember him doing anything of note. Am I missing something?
Edit: Wait, I just read his contract ends this year. I'm giving him a chance now.

The Devolder talk kinda gets you thinking how Quick-step are going to play this - do they hammer hard for Boonan or try to go for an Anti-Cancellara style of race?
Whatever happens those two riders are going to be marked heavily.
Guys like Pozzato, Devolder and Ballan are looking somewhere back to where they have been, but I just can't see it.
Anyway a prediction then...
Edvald Boassan Hagen for the win. Why? I am an eternal sky hopeful! Looking forward to the race.

I hope it will be Fabian who wins, but watch out for Chavanel! He is so good this year. He deserves it. But I think he must ride for Boonen. GO Fabian and Chav! |

If I was managing Quick-Step, I'd probably have Boonen stuck in Cancellara's wheel for as long as possible, never relay him, just screw his race if that's what it takes, and outsprint him in the end.
Then I'd use Devolder and Chavanel to neutralise underdogs and eventually try to go in a break but without cooperating (or not too much), so that Cancellara has to work, and the other opponents have to work at least as much.
I'm not saying it'd be stylish, but theoretically that shouldn't be too far from granting the win. |

I don't think Devolder would pay much attention to what the OPQS manager had to say.

You never know what would happen with a hacked radio channel, but what you say makes sense.
Anyway, just use Chavanel, or whoever you've left and is strong enough in the last 100 km of the race. |

Edit: Wait, I just read his contract ends this year. I'm giving him a chance now. You definately didn't watch then. Yes you missed a lot. It wasn't a half hearted attack but a serious one (never seen him do such attack in the last 2 years). And he was very good in De Panne as well. |

It looked pretty unconvincing to me, the usual useless late attack in a race doomed to the sprint. Couldn't watch De Panne this year, but anyway, we'll find out tomorrow.

Judging from his performance in E3, Pozzato seems to be in perfect shape. If he decides to do something besides wheelsucking his way to 5th place, I think he is able to pull it off. |

So here we are, cant wait for the race to start, any weather news?
Sagan will surprise today and will go for the win (well that is my wish, it will be very hard to even enter the top 10 for him).
My eight favourites are:
1.Chavanel
2.Pozzato
3.Cancellara
4.Boonen
5.Breschel
6.Ballan
7.Sagan
8.Vanmarcke

I'd love to see David Veilleux get a Top 50, and Rollin a Top 20

So, thanks to the threats of sabotage the route has had some last minute adjustments.
