While I appreciate my team's effort of going for the win, I'm a bit reluctant when it comes to leaving your team leader behind in the process, especially when the favorite is unbeatable. Lucky it was just 5 seconds.

From the Neutral's perspective, I'd like to see a crzay Giro decided in the final time trial, but I'm not sure the other managers would. I'll be watching, and making notes for Dyson's upcoming races. I bet we wouldn't have come last in the TTT though. |

Not pleased with that TTT. Only 6th and then Schleck losing time for not being amongst the first 5 riders.

That's an excellent start from Vespa. Pozzo will be pleased.
And Cafe de Colombia weren't last. As I have zero expectations wouldn't surprise me to see the team do quite well. |

Amazing preview, CountArach!
Very nice to see the first Grand Tour up, hopefully it will be an epic show on the mountainous route. Actually, I'm sure it will be a great show! |

Thanks for all the kind words guys, it makes it all worthwhile
First off - I have no idea what happened with Caruso there. I had to keep checking to make sure that it wasn't in fact him who fell off the bike but he just seemed to give up for no reason.
Secondly - Sorry about the missing last photo. I spent ages setting it up just right but I must have pressed the wrong key to take the picture. C'est la vie.
I hope everyone likes these reports. I apologise if they are a bit too text-heavy, but I really enjoy writing.

Liked the report. Strange ending actually as Wikipedia should have done a bit more...
Wiggle indeed with lots of bad luck. Hopefully Cataldo isn`t injured at all. This would be a disaster otherwise as he could do well as outsider with the national bonus. |

Seems Caruso had been warned there'd be some doping vampires waiting for him at the finish line
Well done by Reimer. The team can use every possible point we can get.
Also, good prediction by SotD. It's going to be tough to convince teams to reel in the breakaways. |

I saw it as a bit like Milan - San Remo. By the end of it so few riders had the energy left to chase.

Ahh, so close to get the second stage win there. But after winning the TTT this Giro is already a success so I can't complain at all.

An unexpected 4th for Kittel, quite a bonus! But what a sucky stage for Wiggle, couldnt have gone much worse.

Reports are great. As a tip, always take more than one finish line shots. You can just delete the ones you dont use afterall.

An ending that seems all too common this season

You realise its Damiano not Gianpaolo? Or are you accusing rjc of running a doping ring!

Woohoo. Second stage, second goal achieved.
Great work by Franzoi! Compensating for not being our best man on the cobbles this year, I like it
And, personally, I like the reports as they are CountArach

That was without a doubt the best possible thing that could happen for me in a flat stage. To get a 5th place on that stage was pure bonus. And Daan Rijntjes already managed to scramble the amount of points expected of him this season.
Wiggle had a shitty run here. Hopefully Cataldo is alright. Also a tough break to lose on of the best breakaway riders to illness or whatever happened. That's really a bummer.
Hopefully the following stages will be set easily so no riders will crash out, except for, perhaps, the nullified helpers set for the TTT only. An easy stage for Fothen in the middle of the pack, without the team having to use up unnecessary powers here.
All in all, a good start above expectations. I don't want to jinx it though, as I had my share of bad luck this season.

Well, really surprising 3rd place from Evert Verbist - it seems like it was really good move for me in off-season for only 150.000 + Isaac Speirs. Good work from Leigh Howard as well.
Anyway, I agree with SotD, it will be interesting to see how many flat stages will end in mass sprints. My helpers will hopefully help to reel in the breakaways, Henao Montoya should be able to survive in the peloton.
Great report once again, CountArach. The amount of text and pictures is well balanced for me, I really like it.

Well, Damiano has some problems with doping as well.

Quite an anonymous stage there for Vespa and Colombia. Seems to be something we're specializing in recently.
No compliants from me about "text heavy" reports, btw. Enjoying reading them. |

The reports are excellent, if you enjoy writing them then thats perfect.
As far as withdrawals go, if people crash and injure themselves then they don't have a crash animation, they just stop and withdraw.

Well that sucked then. Two crashes for my team if MB is right. I also hope Cataldo is ok, and Caruso was my hope for a super-domestique/breakaway rider supreme. Also, my first ever rider withdrawal from a Giro. I usually try and select guys who'll make it the whole way to the finish, so that's another Wiggle norm broken.
Plus, as a rider, I beat my rider, Luke Rowe, in a sprint. Sure. That's likely.
