I'm not sure I got it right, but I think he means that since he's predicted Cancellara on MSR, De Ronde and Roubaix, he must win at least one of them.

Yeah, Pellizotti has it right, and given I don't think I called anything right last year, I'm going for the favourites in an effort to improve my stats.

Oh and to add to mine:
-Nathan Haas will have a fantastic breakthrough year with Garmin, and be prominent in breakaways in the TDU.
-Anton will finally conquer the Vuelta ahead of another Spanish rider.
A good puncheur such as Gilbert will w=take out the worlds RR, and the ITT will be a fight between Martin and Sparticus.
-Peter Sagan will round out the season with a win in Lombardia.

I hope so. And if Von Hoff can do well in the development squad that might be another great Australian breakthrough.

Nothing sensational..
Silin, Kittel just..
Main question is still TdF..
If Contador racing he will win.. If not..then we need another TT-climber for that.
Taaramäe is stronger then Rolland..but this is not enough to take tour white.
Rabo youngsters will be GT 4 or 5th. and ruben will be hyper exited.
Nibali will collect again at least one GT podium place..and ruben still hates him..
Cavendish speed is not that fast anymore compared to rivals..no not Farrar..new guys- Kittel..russian monster. It is much closer now.
I miss already HTC team
Goss will be visible
Thor wont win Roubaix..but will surprise us once again
Boonen looks already desperate
Cancellara will start to win races again..after tactic failure season
Tony Martin is still not a climber
Ricco moment of the season will be drunk car driving..
Cobo...who?
Valverde takes Dauphine

They've both got massive potential, I just hop they can put it to good use.
And also Von Hoff did very well in the Nationals today, hopefully signs of the future.

Gilbert will continue to dominate the classics, but won't win the Paris Roubaix, instead the Paris Roubaix will be won by Cancellara.
Andy Schleck won't win the tour and will finish outside the podium, Alberto Contador won't win the Tour, if he doesn't get ban and Cadel Evans will win again.
Cobo will win the Vuelta again.
Froome, Rolland and Voeckler won't repeat the achievements of 2011.
Valverde will become a helper instead of leader.
Pozzato will be back with good results.
Gilbert will win the WC and Martin will defend his WC TT title. |

This was my only "real" prediction of last year:
- I will get 20% or less correct of my predictions.

My predictions:
A breakaway will win once again in San Remo, but not Gilbert nor Cancellara will win it. It will be an outsider.
Gilbert does win the Ronde, with an incredible Cancellara in second place.
Tom Boonen finally wins Paris Roubaix and is now equal with Roger de Vlaminck(?)
Purito punches himself to the victory in the Amstel Gold
Radioshack is the first team to know that Frank is a better hilly rider than Andy. So Frank wins la Fleche
But it is the sprint of Gilbert who beats Evans in LBL.
Jose Rujano is the best climber in the Giro, but the TT save the Giro for Nibali, who wins.
Contador shows that he is strong by winning the Dauphine
Wiggins wins the Tour de Suisse.
In the Tour de France, Rolland surprises everyone on a hilly stage by taking the yellow. Evans crashes, like Horner. Robert Gesink gets 5th
Frank gets 4th, Andy gets 3rd Wiggins 2nd, so it is Contador who wins! EBH wins the green and shows he is better than Cav
Marcel Kittel continues winning.
Cancellara is back!
The Schlecks still can't TT
And Samuel Sanchez wins the Vuelta
Cunego wins the Lombardia.
Rider of the year: Contador! |

Thought it'd be fun to start looking back at this thread now, as the season is over.
My predictions at the beginning of 2012:
Pellizotti2 wrote:
- Contador avoids ban and wins a fourth Tour. Schleck Jr. second again, blaming it on the route. Gesink rounds out the podium.
- Scarponi prevails in the Giro, where he also wins a stage. Basso and Rodriguez second and third. Nibali ducks in favour for the Tour.
- Valverde returns to the Vuelta with another triumph, ahead of Anton and Rodriguez. Cobo can't repeat last year's performance, but finishes in the Top 5.
- Froome gets no way near last year's capacity and fails everywhere.
- If 1t4i gets a wildcard for the Tour, Geniez scores a Top 10 overall.
- Gilbert fails to reach last year's immortality, but still has a nice season, winning Milano - San Remo and De Ronde, as well as one of the Ardennes.
- Cancellara returns to the time trial throne, beating Martin in every TT. He also podiums at De Ronde and wins Roubaix again.
- Cavendish fails in the Olympics.
- Purito wins in Huy, and podiums in Amstel and Liège.
- Nibali makes the Top 5 at the Tour, and wins Lombardia.
- At least one WT stage race victory for Cunego.
- Goss beats Cavendish in one Tour mass sprint, also taking green.
- Pieter Weening somehow wins the worlds, with Joost Posthuma making it a home double by taking the TT. Cancellara and Martin both gets disqualified for too much rivalry.
Way off about Froome, that's for sure.
Had Purito on the podium in the Giro and the Vuelta, plus as Fleche winner, so that was a bit of a success at least. Also came close with Valverde in the Vuelta. Also got Cavendish missing out in the Olympics and Gilbert failing to reach last year's level. Apart from this, pretty bad predictions.

Contador will win the Tour, Evans 2nd and Froome 3rd. Wiggins will struggle and ride as a support act in preparation for the Vuelta. The Schlecks will fail, again. Cavendish will take Green, Rolland will take Polka Dot and Sagan will take White.
Anton will win the Vuelta from Wiggins and Dan Martin. In the Giro, Nibali takes the victory from Rujano and Gadret.
Cancellara and Gilbert share the monuments between themselves, with Cav taking Milano-San Remo and Gent-Wevelgem.
Gilbert takes the world title, with Tony Martin retaining the World TT crown. Cav wins the Olympic RR, with Froome winning the Olympic TT.
This will all end up being wrong though.
Got the Worlds right, Contador being suspended ruined some of my others and Cancellara being injured screwed my predictions up a bit. And nailed the Schleck fail. |

With all do respect, nailing a Schleck-fail isn't the hardest thing in the world to do

You stole my words!
I'm pretty impressed with Freitas, picking David Blanco as the winner of Volta a Portugal.

- Contador doesn't get banned, and consequently pwns the Tour, as well as Catalunya and maybe another week long race.
- Gilbert has another good season, but nowhere near as good as the last one, and fails to win the WC. He wins De Ronde, though.
- Nibbles wins the Giro, just hanging on to his lead in the stage to Stelvio, which Zapatero wins.
- Tommeke wins Paris Roubaix, outsprinting Spartacus.
- The Vuelta route will suck again, hence the race being really poor again. Valverde podiums the Vuelta.
- Frändy's and Rabobank's Tour focus proves to be a fail, with none of them (Frändy or Rabo's leaders) in the podium. Gesink takes revenge winning the Vuelta.
- Cavendish doesn't win the Olympic race. Cadel wins the worlds, and the Panzerwagen wins both ITTs.
- Gilbert wins the Amstel, but Purito prevails in the Mur de Huy, and Valverde in Liège.
- MSR is for... wait for it... Scarponi! Hah!
Gesink winning the Vuelta.

Tony Martin wins both Olympic and Worlds ITT.
Gilbert wins the Worlds.
Some WTF winners throughout the season.
Egor Silin's year of breakthrough!
Gilbert doesn't do the trible once again.
Rebellin gets old.
Cristina Watches hires an ex-doper.
Igor Antón will finally win something big.
Scarponi wins the Giro, edging out Rujano and Nibali.
Evans will finish higher than the Schleck's in the Tour.
Garmin get a new rider in the top-10 of the Tour,
David Blanco wins Volta a Portugal.
Rojas and Bennati will finish 10 times in second.
Not badly done predictions. The Evans one is a bit silly, since Andy didn't race and Frank didn't finish, but whatever.
And it isn't really hard to predict the Volta winner with Blanco racing.
