I'll probably do brief, news-style reports for the major spring classics. Here is the first.
Boonen wins in Belgium
Tom Boonen of Quickstep won the first of the major spring classics in Gent-Wevelgem... he was the fastest out of a 9 man group who made it to the finish. The others stood no chance against his powerful sprint whilst Italian Filippo Pozzato and German Marcus Burghardt rounded out the podium.
Top 10
1 - Tom Boonen - Quick Step
2 - Filippo Pozzato - Team Katusha
3 - Marcus Burghardt - Team Columbia-High Road
4 - Martijn Maaskant - Garmin-Slipstream
5 - Stuart O'Grady - Team Saxo Bank
6 - Alessandro Ballan - Lampre - N.G.C
7 - Juan Antonio Flecha - Rabobank
8 - George Hincapie - Team Columbia-High Road
9 - Fabian Cancellara - Team Saxo Bank
10 - Leif Hoste - Silence-Lotto
Oh and sorry for the inspectacular results format but the export button doesn't work on classics (and I'm too lazy to fix something nice up haha).

Boonen Makes It Two
Another sprint finish and another win for Tom Boonen at the Tour of Flanders.
Fabian Cancellara found himself dragged on ahead of the others by his Saxo Bank team mates with the best part of 100km still to race and decided to go alone.
He built up an advantage of a minute and rode strongly but couldn't make his lead hold, and was caught by six other riders near the finish.
In the end it was another easy win for Boonen, wearing the ProTour leader's jersey today, who shrugged off a final surge from Cancellara in the last few metres. Nick Nuyens of Rabobank took an unexpected 3rd.

Flecha wins Paris-Roubaix
Juan Antonio Flecha won Paris-Roubaix after an impressive solo break.
The Spaniard racing for Rabobank broke free with just under 50km of racing left and never looked back, winning by 2'12 in the end. Behind Martijn Maaskant took second after a similarly executed attack.
Tom Boonen was denied a triple victory in the cobbled classics after his wins in the Tour of Flanders and Gent-Wevelgem but fended off Filippo Pozzato in the sprint for third.
Frederic Guesdon put in a credible performance to take an unexpected 8th place as the best placed Frenchman in his home race.
Stijn Devolder started the race after returning from injury but was in no state to contend the victory and finished outside the time-limit. Inexplicable Non-starters were the Cervelo duo of Hushovd and Haussler who could have potentially contended for top placings.

Valverde Destroys Oposition at Gold Race
Alejandro Valverede won the first of the Ardennes classics by conquering the Amstel Gold Race.
The Spanish champion attacked the main field with 40km to ride and wasn't seen again by them, finishing comfortably 2'10 up on 2nd placed Damiano Cunego.
The Italian duo of Luca Mazzanti and Cunego attacked 10km later but it was too late to catch Valverde. Mazzanti however held off a late surge by Andy Schleck at the finish to round out the podium.
Meanwhile pre-race favourite Frank Schleck disappointed and finished down in 13th place.

Stat Edits
The following riders have had edits to their stats:
Stuart O'Grady, Carlos Sastre, Alejandro Valverde, Franco Pellizotti, Mauricio Soler, David Zabriskie, Thomas Dekker, Levi Leipheimer, Frank Schleck, Alberto Contador, Cadel Evans, Andy Schleck, Denis Menchov, Ivan Basso, Samuel Sanchez, Lance Armstrong, Danilo Di Luca.
The edits are mostly fairly small and I won't be touching the stats of riders again on this savegame.
Meanwhile, Danilo Di Luca has also reportedly been fired by LPR Brakes for a breach of contract.

Chavanel denies Schleck
Sylvain Chavanel came out victorious at La Fleche Wallone.
Saxo Bank and Caisse d'Epargne controlled the early stages of the race but on the penultimate climb a group of 6 riders went away - Devenyns, Chavanel, Vanendert, Florencio, Casar and Knees.
Late attacks came from the likes of Andy Schleck, Valverde and Cunego but the attackers looked like they were going to make it.
On the incredibly steep climb to the finish Andy Schleck made his way up to and past all of the sextet bar Chavanel who found second legs to stay clear of Schleck.
The younger Schleck brother was bitterly disappointed at the finish after having left his attack too late again after the recent Amstel Gold Race where he finished 4th.

Photo Finish in Liege
Centimetres if anything separated Frank Schleck and Alejandro Valverde on the line at Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
With 20km to go it was the Spanish champion Valverde who flew away from the others and began to ride away.
But with 13km to ride he suffered an incredibly untimely puncture, leaving Simon Gerrans, Luca Mazzanti and Frank Schleck at the front of the race.
But whilst Schleck rode the other two of his wheel, Valverde had no intentions of giving up. Rejoining the main chasing group, he made a massive attack with just 6km left to ride and started to claw his way back to the Luxembourgian climber.
On the final climb to the finish Schleck was within his sights and on the flat just before the finish line he gave his all with one last lunge.
But it was just not quite enough for the Spaniard who was left distraught as Frank Schleck raised his arms to celebrate the victory. Behind them Damiano Cunego rode in to round out the podium after attacking on the penultimate climb.

The Grand Tour season is upon us! The route this year begins with a team time trial in Lido di Venezia and then throws everything you can expect from a grand tour at the riders. 6 mountain stages, 5 of which are mountain-top finishes, and 81km of individual time-trialing will shape the general classification this year. The startlist looks interesting too.

Stage 1
Lido di Venezia TTT: 20km
The Giro begins with a 20km Team time trial in the Venezian sandbar. Favoured to win are Rabobank, Columbia and Lampre.
There isn't much to report on as TT world champion Bert Grabsch leads Columbia over the line with the winning time to take the first pink jersey.
Cunego fares the best of the favourites and is 10 seconds back in the GC.
