That was a bit dissapointing from Bernaudeau. Had hoped he could nail a top 3 here... Oh well, Dees did pretty good, and Ulissi is still in 10th place. Hopefully he can climb a spot or two and save a disastrous start.

Trying to figure out why Richeze would go in one breakaway, let alone 2...

Ulissi is really not using his sprint stat very well, but he is climbing nicely. In the ideal world he would take another two positions on the GC, but I suspect that is a dream world... Has his hill stat been updated to 80 btw? He doesn't seem stronger than last year (I don't know how much effect one stat will have though)

Oh well, Del Nero had to crack some time. Hoping Guerao can give it a go on the flat tomorrow

Bos out, but we now occupy the last two spots in the GC
It's been a good tour

Ponzi doesn't seem any stronger, and yet he's gone up an entire level and 3 hill points. Go figure eh?!

I disagree. He won two stages last year, he's currently on course to fail my goal of a Top 3 overall, and hasn't even won anything to make up for it! I'm appalled! Still, team prize is worth a little, surely?

Both Ulissi and Ponzi have the correct stats - trouble is Bakelandts and Schleck are just too strong in these uphill finishes.
Wiggle are doing a lot of chasing work - it is as if they know they are trying to get third on GC and Ponzi is a bit unlucky so far that he has been behind a very good performance by Gilbert. Froome is the surprise man for me certainly taking advantage of being so good on stage 2. Ulissi seems to be stuck in constantly poor positions such as attacking first or leading out sprints or being behind splits.
Though no-one has been more disappointing thus far than Hagen this guy is having a woeful start to the season. B and O can not afford this!

Luckily, if I should fail all my goals, I won't be penalised too much because I took the lowest amount on offer. On the other hand, if I was to succeed in them all, I'd get jack-shit too!
I just need to stay up, and going on Ponzi's performance so far, he seems stronger than Sinkewitz was last year on the hills, just as consistent, but getting placings on stages rather than just top 10s.
Yeah, Hagen ain't doing too good, is he?!

I am trully pissed off at Wiggle for pulling in the break. If the break was allowed to go, Bakelants would be in yellow right now. Nice job Wiggle. Great work setting up Ponzi for that win...oh wait

On a more serious note, why would Bakelants take the initiative to attack out of the leaders group? Probably cost him the GC win...

No we can not. Plain bad luck really. Luckily we took max points in Oman and with Catalunya coming up with Pluchkin participating I still cannot imagine my team being near the relegation spots when February is done.
Woeful start for Hagen, yes.
EDIT: Add to that, that Klemme also must be suffering from the crash, cause he could also go Top 10 here just like Froome is doing
rigth now.

Looking forward to see if Contador can threaten Pluchkin in the Catalunya...
I suspect some very strong riders will be there, like Intxausti, Valverde, Tenorio/Madrazo and so on

Only Tenorio for me, so my win goal isn't looking great. I don't think Valverde got an invite.

I'll be extremely surprised if we see Valverde in Catalunya, considering he's riding in the CT, and Waghlon doesn't have wildcard for that one
Very nice reporting Smowz, and a really close battle for the overall win, but it looks sure for F. Schleck now, but those 2 intermediate sprints close to the finish line might cause some action from Bakelandts. |

Santander mock all of these flat stages, we chase the break, set up a sprint chain, then disappear and there is nothing you can do about it.
