Mumbai Cyclothons Discussion
Waghlon
Well, i'll take it. But Bennati can NOT have my already-printed "Emporor of India" t-shirts.

Two things:
1) I'm very pleased with my riders attacking and I can't wait till Sobal gets to race somewhere he might actually win. He was in the break and still sprinted in the end. Awesome stuff!
2) Congrats to Team Puma - SAP and Benatti on dominating the Mumbai Cyclothon.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord will delete my browser history.

Honestly, I feel a bit sorry for both Oz and Meiji, as they would really deserve such a win.

WoW! I am really pleased with the AMEX results.

Crane bridging the gap into the break and then making a 2nd late try. The D2 boys did very good in this race.

Ospina 11th
Esmaeli 13th and neither of them are sprinters
Selig 24th Three men in the points
Crane 37th My key domestique
Veyt 38th Solid but still waiting for him to get in the break
McCarty 53rd
Euser 63rd

Amex now ranks higher in the CT than we do in D2.

Looking forward to our next wildcard opportunity and hopefully it will include some mountains.

Thanks to all the CT teams for giving us D2 rookies a chance to shine.

Im not sure where you are getting this from? You wont be in the Top 30 of the CT standings, and theres only 24 D2 teams!

VolksWagen - Siemens did not ride in Mumbai, but they did not need to to keep hold of their lead. Jayco - Red Bull were the 2nd highest scoring team in India though, and they move into 2nd, just above Hollister. Team Puma - SAP undoubtedly emerged out of India the happiest though and they are up to 4th. Proximus-Trek enter the Top 10, while Oz Cycling Project and Meiji-Fugi both climb 4 spots into the Top 20.

Two Indian wins and Bennati is making his presence known at the top of the Individual Standings, climbing 20 placs to 5th. Baden Cooke and Mark Cavendish were two other notable movers, having scored well in both races. We cant ignore Allan Davis at the top though, who has now extended his lead.

You are of course 100% correct, but in the [CT] Mumbai we scored 24 points in our first [D2] race - Dubai - we were skunked.

When you are a climbing team racing in the early season sprints any point on the scoresheet is like found money.

Anybody want a Labatt's Blue Light Lime the AMEX team trailer just iced down several cases?

I wonder if there could be a sprint won by someone underrated and with underrated I mean really underrated, nothing Davis like as he is good enough for a stage win at least

I was considering this as well. So far it seems mostly to be the top 15 or so sprinters who have won almost every sprint and the lower ones on that list are only doing it when none of hte big guys are around. There are enough strong sprinters knocking aroud to mean that outsiders just don't get a chance at it.

The first race was a real shocker, I have to wonder whether the squad went down with Delhi Belly. Seemed to effect Brown badly, whatever his ailment was!

The second race was far more successful and rescued our trip to India really. Was going to be difficult to beat the likes of Cav and Bennati - However the second place riders in both races were mild upsets imo.

Excellent performance by Puma SAP, they came, they saw and they conquered. I imagine the Bennati road show will move onto Europe next!
