Stage made for the sprinters to kick off this years race.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-1.jpg

Huge break of 12 today, who were eventually caught by the peleton with 10km to go, sprint finish was always on the cards.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-8.jpg

Leadout train of Europcar, Chavenal looks to be in a good position

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0004-6.jpg

A good win for Chavenal, could this finally be a good season for the French sprinter.

Stage 2

Today's stage is classified as a hilly stage, but the hill come at the start and middle of the stage, this may help the sprinters to claim a win today.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0001-9.jpg

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-3.jpg

Big group went away today, this included David Veilleux of Europcar, his job today was too monitor the break and make sure no serious gaps open out.

Veilleux done his job brilliantly and the break was caught with 30km to go, the pace was high on the front of the peleton, sothere were no attemps to form another breakaway.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-9.jpg

2 from 2 for Seb Chavenal, a great sprint finish from the Europcar sprinter, he came from along way back to win today, brilliant job.

Stage 3

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0004-7.jpg

Another stage classified as hilly, but yet could end up in a bunch sprint.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0005-4.jpg

Today's break worked well together and proved difficult to bring back.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0006-5.jpg

Schmitz wins from the break but no time gaps, this will annoy Seb Chavenal who thought he should of had a hat trick of wins as the strongest sprinter here.

Stage 4

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0001-10.jpg

Another flat stage for the sprinters today, a slight steep uphill may put some of the sprinters off today, lets find out...

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-4.jpg

Today's break was a large group today, they never posed a real threat to the favourites for today's win as the sprinters teams controlled the race.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-10.jpg

It's a good win for Landbouwkrediet's Bobbie Traksel, Chavenal the overall leader struggle on the slight gradeint, so it was left to Gautier to sprint for victory but he finished a respectable 7th.

This years Tour starts with a flat stage around Palma.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0005-5.jpg

A large breakaway today that posted no threat to the contenders today, the break was quickly reeled in with 15km to go.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0006-6.jpg

A win for Tom Veelers of Skil Shimano ahead Sebastian Turgot of Europcar, great result for Skil and Veelers.

Final Stage

Today is the final stage of this years Etoile de Bessegs, currently Europcar's Sebastian Chavenal is the current overall leader and will be looking to win to secure his overall win.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0001-11.jpg

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-11.jpg

Today's break features 4 riders, they manage to pull out a reasonable gap, but non of them pose a threat to the GC.
Europcar today may decide it may be easier to let them go and take the win but we will see......

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0004-9.jpg

And they indeed let the break go just Blot won takes the final stage and a French win on home soil.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0006-7.jpg

The peleton are lead over by Traksel wo won the sprint for 5th, 27 seconds down on today's race winner.

Thanks for the support, it's very easy to loose interest in the story and very easy to loose motivation when you have limited time to play the save and update the story, thank you Grin

Vuelta a Mallorca

Stage 2

Todays stage is another chance for the very few sprinters that are here in Mallorca, Turgot finished 2nd in the first stage and will be hoping to better that today.

Today's breakaway was 8 strong, they managed to build up a lead of 7 minutes before been reeled back by the peleton. It was a brilliant well organised chase by the peleton to bring back the break. The team of the leaders jersey took it on themselves to do most of the work.

A win for Europcar's Sebastian Turgot, what a fantastic start to the season for this team and its new sponsors.

Vuelta a Mallorca

Stage 3

Today's stage is the first hilly stage of this years tour. We expect to lose the leader's jersey today, but we hope for a good performance from Charteau.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0002-6.jpg

Today's break formed on the first incline, only 2 men were allowed away after numerous attempts ny others. Today is was Nibali of Liquigas, a big name to allow into the break, he was joined by Bernabeau of Andalucia.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0003-12.jpg

The peleton starts to split on today's toughest climb, Charteau tried his best to keep Turgot up their but it was to no avail.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0004-10.jpg

Group of 7 form after the split, this contains the strongest on form riders in this race, we expect the winner to come from this group.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0005-6.jpg

Superb ride by Charteau to join up with the group of favourites.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0006-8.jpg

The group catch Nibali and Bernabeau, do they have the energy to stick in this group.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/PCM0007-4.jpg

A win for Sutherland ahead of Nibali, Charteau came home in 7th for Europcar.
