Those tats look awesome ingame its a pity we cant get the faces to look better no matter what i try they still look all the same ,i tried evans face but the only thing that look any good on it is his chin the rest of his head looks like the default riders hope some one works out how to get better face model.
here is a shot i was trying to add new sun glasses hehe Edited by cogneto on 22-07-2011 05:53
Looks good! One suggestion: Make the original face as bright as the photo or the other way around.
It's just too bad that they look so generic ingame. Cyanide really missed a chance there. Maybe for the next version there can be something like a face mesh editor, where we can transform the faces like in Pro Evolution Soccer to make them look more realistic.
Fabian Cancellara
Height: 186 cm
Width: 82 kg
Now Cancellara has a really remarkable face and i think it fits well on the face model. Such things like the longer hairs are making it easier to recognize him. Unfortunately not every rider has this kind of a special feature ^^
One thing i discovered in the Cyclist editor: If you turn the weather to "TrackOutdoor" (or Indoor) the face somehow doesn't look that generic anymore:
So i think a reason why the faces have that "generic" look is because of the lightnings in the game. I don't say that it makes a big difference, but i think it's 10% because of that.
Too bad we can't change the lightnings to the TrackOutdoor settings... or can we? I'll investigate about that
One advice. Many people experience that the riders are pretty dark. I made some brighter default faces.
So you should try to light the rest of his face, so that everything is in the colour of his photo face.
Make 2 layers. Top layer is the Cya default one. The bottom is the picture.
Then use the "rubber" or how you call it and delete the parts of the upper layer to see the face like you probably did. Then choose the darker default one and play a little bit with the options. Light it up, higher contrast etc. So that both layers have pretty much the same colour.
Otherwise your face will again look pretty dark from the side. Looks at EintrachtFan`s or my posted pictures and you`ll see what I mean. Just takes 1min to edit the layer.
Edit: EintrachtFan was faster.
Nice Cancellara with the hair btw.

Uuhm, ya, i don't now how to make the background face brighter. And i don't quite understand the guide. I Would need it in danish. And i use GIMP. Did u explain it as in Photoshop or GIMP? I Think i'll try too translate with GT
Never really used GIMP, but the layers should be the same in both programs.
You open the default face and then add a new layer. There you add the photo.
Then you have 2 layers. If you choose the default skin layer, you can use some options. Like enlighten, contrast etc.
Maybe this video will help you a bit. The part from 1:45 to 2:10 is an easy way, although there are more and better ways of course. But it`s a good start. Just make sure you pick just the layer with the default skin, otherwise the photo will also change.
The face looks pretty good. Will test it ingame later.
But you should also make the eyes different. Download EintrachtFan`s Cancellara face and you`ll see how he made the eyes. Probably the best solution.
