Australian Championships - Time Trial Championships 2011
After the intense Road Race we are now heading towards the Time Trial. The Road Race showed us who's got the early form. Evans should be big favourite after good show. His next big opponents should be Porte and Meyer borthers. Daily form will affect the results too.
The Time-Trial course is varied, with few hills and downhills, though mostly flat. Wind will play part too, while the weather is sunny and calm, with no rain whatsoever. Perfect day for cycling.

Pre-Tactics Meeting
Not much too say about today. Rogers fitness will defintely stop him having a shot at the title, but we hope for good placement. We hope also for a good ride for Sutton, Hayman and Gerrans, which will use this as preparation heading towards Tour Down Under.

Australian Championships - Time Trial Championships Report
First serious time was set by Jack Bobridge. He's one of the earliest starters and crashes the other times. His time looks very good, a defitne benchmark for the others.
55'57
The eyes of the Aussie public has been on this rider for past few days. Micheal Matthews as one of the youngest winner of the Aussie Nationals is one the most promising Australians in cycling. He's decent time-trialer but it looks like he took it easy on the day.
56'31
Rory Sutherland has changed a lot since joining United HealthCare. His TT improved a lot and his focus this year is on Tour of California. He sets pretty good time, though not good enough to beat Bobridge ( my fav picture made on PCM 11 so far by me )
56'04
Cameron Meyer has won this title last year and showed good form in ht e Nationals. He beats Bobridge time by only just one seconds to take the overall lead with only few riders left. Can he pull it off again ?
55'56
Michael fitness coming to Nationals wasn't very good. He lacked fitness like most of the riders, but he suffered more in the winter months. He sets dissapointining time by his standards, only 6th fastest, but we didn't really expect much with his fitness. It's defitnely good start for him getting his fitness up.
56'06
Richie Porte is the next man on the road. He looked very confident throughout. His positioning was brilliant. He smashes the intermediate time, but can he keep it up. He certainly could, best time of the day so far and preety much unbeatable, even for Evans.
54'37
Last man starting was big favourite Cadel Evans, but even he couldn't do anything to come close to Riche's time. Though he tried hs best and finishes on 2nd position, 47 seconds behind Porte.

Sky After-Race Meeting
We won't lie, we expected better placement here. But given that Michael was sick in winter, his fitness wasn't best at all heading towards Nationals and we didn't expect much. Sutton on 16th place is pleasing though. We are looking towards Santos Tour Down Under where some new faces will join our Aussies already here. Stay Tuned !

Michael Barry announced his retirement from the professional cycling. Due to personal and family reasons, he had decided this year to announce his retirement. He was a very faithful domestique and friend to everyone at Sky and we wish him everything good in the future.
Barry's Bio
Spoiler
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. His father, Michael (Mike) Barry Sr., was a racer himself in England in the 1950s and until 2006 he ran a specialty bike store and manufactured a line of hand-made bicycle frames. As a result, the younger Barry grew up in a cycling-intense environment, and started racing at a very young age. He has been a professional since 1998. He has spent many years on the Canadian National Team during the early years of his career.
Barry has raced in 5 Vuelta a Espanas and 3 Giro d'Italias but in 2007 had to abandon the Giro due to health issues, which put him out most of the season.
In 2005 he wrote the book: Inside the Postal Bus, about his experiences at US Postal and the 2004 season whilst riding in support of Lance Armstrong. He and his wife also wrote a training book. He also writes diary entries during his cycling season. In 2010, he is publishing a third book.
His wife is 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist Dede Demet Barry. They have 2 children.

Nice and very high quality reports. Already the team presentation was great, although I am a bit late here.
Especially I like the pre and after race meetings.
The ranking looks fine but I would keep all Brits actually.

Thank you very much You can never be late with such an appreciative and nice comment
Yes, my plan is to keep all the Brits. The one I am willing to go is only Downing, and as his replacement I would like to sign Luke Rowe.

Thanks baia Yea, the plan is to keep them all, with maybe one or two leaving, but that depends if they want to sign the contracts as well, as sometimes its preety random, as seen below.

Haha thanks for this great video about your team bus. I would drive the whole Tour de France with this fantastic bus....cycling!? No I´d take the bus for sure That´s so cool!
Are you going to be opened for questions soon? I'd like to ask why Rigo is always asleep in the bus. The nationals didn't go quite well, but results will be improving soon.

Sure We all love answering any questions from the fans. Hmmm... it's quite hard to answer than as it is Rigo's secret. But with that in mind, we remeberd another video with Geraint ( last year he made it ), shwoing Uran sleeping and what Geraint had in mind at 1:20 Enjoy ! And batista, that's another video of our bus for you Let's hope so, but podium wasn't bad
I'm loving this! Keep it up. Those videos are great, even though I've seen most of em before. Oh and Boasson Hagen becomes a beast at everything, make sure to keep him.
And hopefully it didn't take you too long to catch up in my story, since I wanted to make your life difficult. David is enjoying the hospitality at Sky
You´re making me so happy with those bus videos I can´t sleep tonight because of this..or maybe I´m going to dream about a long journey in this bus, playing PCM and enjoy my life

As our leader we take our best form rider and the best rider in our team for this kind of race - Edvald Boasson Hagen. The race is just as if made for him. We would expect and Overall Win with at least one stage win. Eddy will have strong team to support him and his goals.
Our three Aussies, Sutton and Hayman being essential in lead-outs and Gerrans going into the breaks and for the climber's jersey. We also take Ben, Lars and Jeremy for general domestique work.
The starlist here in Down Under is full of star sprinters. We will see battles of arguably the three fastest riders in the world. Freire and Feillu don't have the same ability, but their hill stat will make them bigger threat for overall than pure sprinters.
We can expect, an excting and very intresting bit of racing here, we will know more about the favourites for the race tomorrow, as we will learn the how the form of other sprinters fears.
