Todays breakaway originally included eight riders, but four of them dropped the others on the first of the category 1 climbs. One of them was a Colombia rider: Juan Villegas. The other three were: Gautier (Europcar), Blain (Endura Racing) and Janiaczyk (CCC). However, they didn't stand a chance to hold to the finish, as they were caught on the flat between the two 1st category climbs.
Geniez pushed up the pace a lot on the final climb. Only seven riders could follow the pace: Chadwick, Kern, Tiralongo and Kiserlovski, plus our two leaders, Quintana and Laverde. However, both had to dig deep just to follow the high pace.
As we reached the final kilometres, Quintana took Chadwick's wheel. Laverde had almost nothing left, so he followed Tiralongo, who looked to be most tired of the other riders in the group. The next group were far behind the leaders, so we didn't have to worry about that at least.
However, Chadwick powered away in the steep final kilometer. Nairo couldn't even hold his wheel, so he felt back to fourth, as both Geniez and Kern were going faster. Laverde did what he could to stay on Tiralongo's wheel.
No one was even close to matching Chadwick, though. The Kiwi is really dominating here in Argentina, taking his second stage win. Geniez only lost 9s to Chadwick, which was enough to take second ahead of Kern.
The steep final and Chadwick's impressive acceleration was too much for Nairo, who finished 5th, after being passed by Tiralongo too. In the end, Nairo lost 46 seconds to Chadwick. On one kilometer! Laverde finished last in the group, 7th, but it was enough for him to move up to 6th overall.

23.01.2011: Tour de San Luis
Stage 7
San Luis - El Trapiche: 181.9km
As Chadwick has 25 points more than Taiji in the points classification, Taiji will need more points than a stage win will give so we decided to let Chalapud and Chaves relay at the front of the pack to prevent breakaways. That will give Taiji a chance to go for the points on the intermediate sprints.
Our tactics worked and Taiji grabbed the first sprint quite easily ahead of Förster and the biggest threat in the points classification, Tom Veelers.
Both Veelers and Förster were much faster at the other sprint, so Taiji just managed a third. That means that he has gained 8 more points. In the virtual standings Chadwick still had 17 more, but more important, Veelers still had three more points than Taiji.
As we reached the final sprint, Förster and Veelers took the lead with just over a kilometer to go. Taiji was following Veelers, but he was a bit blocked in between some other sprinters and had problems to find a way through.
However, thanks to his good technique, Taiji managed to find space to move forward. There was only 100m left and he was side by side with Veelers. This was going to be a very tight finish and a nice showdown for the points classification.
Once again Taiji got the better of the two and took his third stage win here in Argentina. I had never dreamed of winning this much, but Taiji has done much better than I had expected. Veelers lost by half a wheel, which was enough to lose the points jersey to Taiji!

Taiji was obviously a good transfer. Although it`s still January. 
Do you post all PT races like Down Under? Would be a nice feature but also quite time taking without the exported results. |

Thanks a lot. I will at least continue until PCM.Daily releases a DB for PCM11, since the game is almost unplayable with the Cyanide DB.
