I have been out all day, but a small update.
Yesterday I managed to update 4 countries: Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania and Australia. Sweden now has about 300 entries (200 unique). Australia has 150 entries (100 unique) which is actually more than in the original DB. Latvia and Lithuania now has about 75 entries each.
These numbers are estimated, but so far none of the countries has lost more than a few entries compared to the original DB.
Will get some more done tonight |

Another small update on my progress. Another 3 countries done: Norway, Ireland and USA.
Norway now has about 500 entries (400 unique). USA has about 450 entries (350 unique) and Ireland has about 150-200 entries (most of them unique) |

Yes and no. As stated it is an update of the local.cdb for PCMDaily 2011 DB. So if you're using that DB, then you just have to replace the original local.cdb with this one.
If you use any other DB, then you have to "unpack" the local.cdb and this local.cdb (using Full Editor for example) and then replace the 4 files associated with newrider names |

Guys, I need your help. The big 4 (Spain, Germany, France and Italy) need to have a lot of entries, but so far I have only been able to find decent data for France. I have a top 100 from spain, and top 50 from Germany and Italy. So I could really use some links to more extensive lists from these 3 countries |

Names or surnames? Both?
I don't know if you tried this, but using the country's language when searching helps a lot. I just tried using the German that I remember, and this popped up - a top-250 list of German names:

https://www.senato.../Sena.html
a bit of imagination maybe for example above is the link to the nmaes of all Italian senators. Presumably they represnt a random sampler of Italian names...
(maybe levae out Mussolini and Berlusconi!)

But if you use this list you should scroll down and below the list choose something like 1990. Then it`s more realistic as there aren`t many Leon`s (No.1 in 2010) in Germany being born in that time. |

I am done with first names, so I only need surnames.
@CrueTrue: Thanks for the link . I would use the language, but my german, italian and spanish is a bit rusty |

A good way is also the check the online phone books. Names that appear lots of times are good to use I think. |

A list of Spanish surnames (c. 12.000) - unfortunately not listed by popularity:
https://fcds.med.miami.edu/downloads/d...rnames.pdf
There'a a shorter list here with about 600 of the most popular Spanish surnames - in the US:

Thanks a lot. This is really a big help. Now I have almost all the data I need to finish this. I am currently in the proces of adding about 3000(!) french surnames to the DB |

Once again an update on my progress:
I have finished France. I "only" ended up with 1700 entries (1600 unique), but it should be more then enough.
I have alsoe done Finland and Belarus. |

So am I . If everything goes as planned, and I don't find any big errors, I expect to release this at the end of this week/start of next week.
That is, if I don't encouter any errors |

Quick question: I suppose you wont distinguish between regions?
For example Basque names being generated in the Basque country, Catalan names in Catalonia? I know that is asking a lot , but juist wondering...
The Basque ones would be the only ones I can think of that might be noticeable in gameplay maybe and are usually quite easily distinguished

That is not possible I am afraid...I have put in some basque names, but it's mainly castillian |
