Why do you want to apply?
Just like everyone else here, I think it looks really fun. I have been reading the Man-Game reports since I created my account, and I want to be a part of it. I do also like writing. It would be awesome to create a custom team, have a HQ and read the reports.
How do we know that you will be active?
Since I created my account in May last year, I have over 1000 posts and I have no plans to leave the site. Also, I am only 14 years old, so I am free on the afternoons after school ends. I spend much of my spare time here on PCM.Daily. I do already have a story, which I check every day. If I get a team I would be even more active here, as I know how lucky I have been to get a team.
How would you intend to manage a team, if you get one?
As I'm swedish, I would like a swedish team. I like the mountains, so the team would focus on stage races and one-day races. I wouldn't aim for any big names, but a few decent italian climbers and puncheurs. The rest of the team would be filled up with swedish riders.

Is there any point in making an application if you hasn't been active in the forums? I can make a pretty good app, and will guarentee i would be active. But last year it felt like people with my postcount was autorejected, and i dont see a point in doing a big job making an application if it won't be taken seriously. |

Oh come on, you should always give a try. It might be you, who fulfills all requirements to get a team You can't give up, because u were not chosen last time. It's just a game and everyone is free to apply to it. Instead of criticising others, try to use your creativity, show that you really want to play this game and maybe you will end up with a Continental Team next week
If i fail now, no worries. I'll observe season 2012 and try once again next year. And actually, it didnt took so long to do this "big job" |

Depends on just how good your application is, and whether you show outstanding understanding of the game and how it functions.
At the end of the day, applications from people with 2000 posts, who write 3 words will be turned down if someone with 3 posts writes 2000 words of pure golden quality.
But that's not to say we want 2000 words. Goodness me no.
Think of it this way: You've so far shown a lacking in commitment to the forum, but that's not to say you can't make it up in the other two areas; why you want to apply, and how you'd manage a team. |

A strong application is a strong application. And if you havent made an impression of some sort elsewhere of the forum, the application is all we have to go on.
Ideally those who miss out will do what valverde321 has done and become an active part of the forum - so much so that valverde was nominated in a couple of our forum awards. Whereas you (Stevenag) only made 2 posts inbetween your application last year and your post now - so Id be curious to know why that is.

Ok, i give it a shot then.
Why do you want to apply?
I tried to apply last year, but completely phoned it in, without realizing that I actually had to make an impression. The reason i would like to join, is mostly the fact that I "always" has been looking for something like this. I like PCM, but i get very quickly bored of the career part of it, because the AI isn't lifelike enough. In my opinion, one of the biggest lacks in PCM is the lack of depth. Being able to compete with real people will make this game much more intriguing and complex, even though I can't tell my riders to attack myself. I am also a big fan of the sort of holiday/AI-driven game that this is in a way. I actually has made some sort of Football Manager Holiday saves myself, and gotten a pretty good response on it. This is of course much more complex, and is much more driven by users, but it still bear some resemblance.
How do we know that you will be active?
Well, you don't. Every other answer would be a lie. I can only promise, and hope you trust me. SportingNonsense ask a good question, why i haven't been active between this year and the last. The reason is pretty simple. There is millions of forums on the internet, and it is completely impossible to be active in everyone that is about something you are interested in. If i had a team in the manager game, it would be a good reason to check the forums and i would probably move to the other parts of the forum as well. I have for the last years been moderating a Norwegian forum with over 10k users, but is working on a semi-retirement/real retirement. That would make it much easier to be an active user on another forum. Having said that, i would demand a new username, since i originally created the user to download stuff from the site and my current username is pretty terrible.
How would you intend to manage a team, if you get one?
I have a pretty basic understanding of how the game work, but would have to take a deeper look before my real plan is laid. So everything i say here can be completly turned around if i get a better idea. So, having said that, my plan is still to get a lot of good classicriders. Either with a lot of good hill riders, or a lot of cobbled riders. Getting good results in one day races seems much easier then making a team capable of winning in the stage races. For the stage races i will hopefully have a lot of riders capable of a breakaway win. My focus would be on younger riders, that is possible to get cheap and form into the riders i want, and some older riders that i can squeeze the last juice out of the legs of. I am sort of a Italophile, and would hopefully have an Italian base for my team. At the same time, i would not care to much about it, and would have a pretty internationally flavoured team.

Why do you want to apply?
I tend to have too much free time, and i'm very fond of management games. I am addicted to both Pro Cycling Manager and Football Manager, besides playing Hattrick since 2003 (online based footballmanagergame) and feel that i'm ready for new challenges now. I have red trough mostly of the national championship reports, as well as the other stage races report, and I can't wait to join if my apply is accepted!
How do we know that you will be active?
As written earlier in this post, I am highly addicted to management games, and I have made teams both in fantasy premier league, fantasy "norwegian premier league", Euro 2012-fantasy, as well as waiting for signing up for the 2011 tour de france-fantasy
I cannot promise to be a top notch manager, but one thing I can guarantee is to be active
How would you intend to manage a team, if you get one?
I'm very fond of a balanced team, with the main focus on strong climbers and stage raciers, while sprinters and fighters also remains a huge role in the squad. I also like to pretend I have a youth academy, like Katusha and Rabobank, to develop own riders trough scouting in the selected country of residence. In this case, my team will be both based and managed from my hometown in Norway, sponsored by the main sponsors in this region, to make it as realistic as possible. The sponsors and team name are ready, and I can say for sure that if I'm allowed to play this beautiful game, there will be another cycling team with a bank as main sponsor. (No, not Sparebanken Vest)
My short term goals is to build a team focused on local young lads and mix it up with experienced foreigners, my long term goals is to promote some of the young norwegians into the team, and make them fight for UCI-points. I think the most exciting with management games is what you can create by yourself
I convinced myself to make this a short application, but I'm just too excited I think |

Yes, I have allready taken some looks on your team, and I thought that there may be possibilities, that some of your norwegians could disappear after your sponsor change
But, we'll have to wait for the final desicions of the judge(s) |

Why do you want to apply?
I have to go back to the years 1996 and 1997 for this, if this is okay for you. It's a long time ago, 15 years! (Man, I'm getting old).. but this is the year, that made me love cycling. Some of you might know, I'm from Germany and so some of you might know, who made me love cycling (well, my avatar is obvious): Jan Ullrich... "Ulle" lost his reputation by this time, cycling in general "a bit", too.. but it's still a great sport and I really enjoy watching it (even if it's getting harder in German free-tv after all that... you know, doping). I want to apply to the Man-game, because I love this sport, I love manager-games in general and I love growing a team. This man-game here on PCM looks really good and fun to play. I think, I will love this man-game like i love playing plmanager.co.uk (some of you may know).. i think, I will love this man-game like I loved Jan Ullrich. And i think, I will stand on this game like i still stand on Jan Ullrich, even if he were doped..
How do we know that you will be active?
Take a look at my activity since I'm in this forum last year and you'll see that I'm active I'm really into this forum; I'm still writing on my Dark Dog-story (I'm in the half of my second season there and already have plans for the next season); I'm working on new stages for a long time now; I'm reading and enjoying several other great stories out there and I'm online several times a day. And I don't see any reason, why this should change!
How would you intend to manage a team, if you get one?
I love to grow a smaller team, I've already mentioned this before. I like teams with not so prominent riders. I would manage a team, probably from Australia, with many riders from this country. I would focus on young riders, with maybe some veterans.. because of our team based in Australia, we would focus on getting some nice results in Down Under, obviously and to have some participations in countries like South Africa, America and Asia, as well.. small one-week-stage-races are the races, that I like most. I would focus on signing good flat riders, sprinters and some decent riders for the hills.

Why do you want to apply?
I want to apply because i have looked on the man-game form some time now and its looks very fun and interesting, and it always fun with a online mangement game that is more realistic than the AI in PCM. and also beacause im online at this forum very much and i have a lot of free time. I like PCM very much and i have no intenton to stop be in this forum. I might not write som much but i read most of the things here. Especially the stories that i enjoy very much
How do we know that you will be active?
I like this site and since i become a member it hasn´t got a week before i take a look at the site again. And if i had a team in the mangement game theres no way that i would stop being in this forum, as i said before, i have a lot of free time so i always have some time to check the site to see the latest news. And if your inside a game that is so very hard to get in to, its only stupid and unfair to does that applyed to not be active.
How would you intend to manage a team, if you get one?
I would try to get the most riders from scandinavia and north Europe. I would like it to be a middle-team in CT and i would try to get a mix of young and experienced riders. I would focus One week race and try to get good hilly riders and some sprinters and some good TTers. I would like to race in North Europe, but also in Asia.

If you read around, you'll notice that the current new managers have been chosen. However, there is talk of a 2nd division opening up, so stick around and look out for that.

It's extremely unlikely a manager who had a team before will get a team. |
