Ricco has a kidney failure, maybe caused by kidney stones. He may be away from cycling for a while now.

Excessive EPO use caused kidney failures too, a dozen of years ago.
Of course kidney failures also happen to random people, don't make me say what I didn't say. |

That's very true.
He is under investigation for blood doping... |

I think a doctor isn't allowed to say such things, so I wait for an official explanation. However, it doesn't sound weird. |

From non-reliable sources I heard that Ricco admited to self-blood-transfusions and thats the cause of this whole mess he's in now.

His doctor said that on the record to La Gazetta. That he kept the blood in his fridge for 25 days before re-infusing and is worried this might be the cause of the kidney infection, fever, etc.

Can't Riccò afford a doctor to avoid things like this? Damn, if you're going to dope, at least do it under medical supervision, jackass. |

On a training ride in Palma Fabian Wegmann, Bruno Pires and Anders Lund were hit by a car. None of them is much injured luckily.
Pires and Wegmann have lightly pain at their knees but might start on the last Trofeo. |

I think I have never been less surprised by a piece of news in cycling than the news that Ricco has not cleaned up his act. |

This seems interesting: https://sport.rtl.lu/cyclissem/news//95027.html

Its luxemburgish but sounds interesting. It mainly states that the spanish Newspaper Marca wrote an article about Contador which says that he has been tested positive for Glenbluterol for 4 Consecutive DAYS.
Seems like he could be happy if he gets a 1 year ban after this.
Just hours before: https://sport.rtl.lu/cyclissem/news/94...94969.html
One of the Astana Managers said that Contador should except the 1 year ban as he wouldn t have to wait that long to ride again and he could start of new. The managers Name is Guiseppe Martinelli. He still claims that he thinks Contador is clean...

I don`t understand why it is that important that he was caught 4 times.
It`s quite obvious that you need some days before the dope is out of your blood.
So finding the dope on 4 days a bit less from day to day is just normal.
If they would have banned him for 1 year before than also after this news.
Nothing worse for him in my opinion. |

Actually your right. I think i miss interpreted something there. My bad. However it doesnt say that it was less every day.

The only interesting thing about that is that the amount of clen in the 4th day was bigger than in the 3rd, but it may very well be due to the inaccuracy of the measurement. |

This was said in another source. Not sure where I read it, but it might be on a German site.
@ kumazan: This news is new to me. I just read it was less from day to day.
Your news would mean another transfusion? Or whatever. I don`t really care actually as he definitely deserves a ban, no matter what and how much he had.

Aye Aye! Hadn't seen the link that Squire posted above. Still I think this will be the last we see of Ricco in pro cycling. I liked him a lot, before I knew his personality.

The odd increase could mean two things, either it was caused by the inaccuracy of the measurement or it's indicative of a 2nd transfusion, or whatever he did to get the clen into his body. Given that the 4th positive (the one of the increase) was after the Champs-Élyseés stage, the former is much more likely. |

Stupid people must really be happy to be born in these times. It doesn't take much to be "successful", be it in sports or in a tv show ....
