Williamson did as well as we could have asked - but these U23 races seem uncontrollable!
We are going to need some results from the classics if we are going to make the top five. That could be hit and miss really, Drapac as we have seen is a fine sprinter but lots of breakaways are hurting. Williamson could be a better bet than I first thought on the hilly one! I cannot see the team performing well on the slopes of the Brixia Tour mountain stage.
Fine reporting by the way SN and it is always good to see different riders doing will. Two Iranians in the top 10, with a Kenyan and Malaysian leading the way.

A good perfomance from Williamson again - though not quite the breakthrough we were hoping for. Still great to see the team active on the race I had least expectations for. Drapac has some hope in two of the remaining four races to go (The French classic and stage 3 of Brixia).
Meanwhile the Iranian Mercedes team I am sure will be well set after that one - Maybe Levi can think about forming a Tabriz style team next year!

The general curve of development for Slipstream/BMC/Mercedes has been towards a more international roster. Gilanipoor and Khalili... Benham have made strong cases for their inclusion in my team next year.
