Well I guess I can edit the save at some point. I totally haven't edited the save yet to change the sponsor income just to stay in the positives or anything though. Smile

SRAM Tour of Gila Stage 2

img715.imageshack.us/img715/9772/gila2profile.jpg
Today we travel through rolling countryside in New Mexico. This stage may be one for the breakaway specialists because of it being a transition stage of sorts, added on to that the lumpy route and you've got yourselves a day for the break.

img512.imageshack.us/img512/6922/gila2break.jpg
So Blake Caldwell got in the BOTD for us today. His goal was to win some KOM points, but that failed as whenever he tried to attack away from the group at the tops of the climbs he go pulled back immediately.

img684.imageshack.us/img684/5381/gila2attacks.jpg
So we now have less than 10km left and the break minus Caldwell is still away. (Caldwell was dropped on the last climb) Ben King tries to surprise the group with an attack inside of a small town. Alexander Boyd of Kelly Benefits follows him.

img541.imageshack.us/img541/4351/gila2finalbend.jpg
As King and Boyd, turn onto the final straight-away, the peloton and survivors of the BOTD are not too far in the distance. As the road kicks up, King and Boyd fight for the stage win...

img408.imageshack.us/img408/5939/gila2winner.jpg
But they are both surprised when Hayles sneaks past them to take the stage victory.

I'd just like to appologize, for the slow pace of the story. It's not that its dead, I just have a lot of other priorities that come first. I will however try to play more stages at once so that I can save the replay and report them all the following night. Stage 3 (tt) should be up tonight, unless I make plans.

SRAM Tour of Gila Stage 3 (TT)

img245.imageshack.us/img245/5657/gila3profile.jpg
This stage should see Henao lose his 11th overall in the GC and fall to something around top 25 in the GC. Still we have a chance at top 20 on the stage with someone like Caldwell or David Boily. Someone from BMC or HTC would be my bet to take the win.

img831.imageshack.us/img831/9297/gila3boily.jpg
David Boily out on the course. He rode an alright TT but was never up at the top of the timesheets, even the 1 and only timecheck.

img72.imageshack.us/img72/4625/gila3henao.jpg
SpiderTech's overall hope, and he's having a bad day. He rides nearly 30 seconds slower than the current leader Friedman at the first time check. Meanwhile Brent Bookwalter who is basically in Henao's slipstream is on pace to take the lead from Friedman. But in the second half of the course Henao picks it up and saves his GC hopes.

img30.imageshack.us/img30/6458/gila3bookwalter.jpg
Bookwalter takes the lead from Friedman and no one can beat his time. Must have been him slipstreaming Henao, moving up one place in the GC to 10th.

Sorry it crashed as I was hitting export, and didn't show up in MyDocs.

Its great to read the stages when they get out. Fully understand about outside of pcm priorities. Where did that end up leaving Henao after the stage?

Current SpiderTech GC Standings after Stage 3:
-Henao +3:26 (10)
-Boily +5:52 (23)
-Gilbert +6:57 (39)
-De Luna +7:11 (43)
-C. Van Heerden +7:14 (44)
-Euser +7:31 (48)
-J. Van Heerden +7:42 (52)
-Caldwell +7:50 (53)

SpiderTech is 4th in the team GC behind
1.BMC
2.HTC
3.Endura
4.SpiderTech

thanks for that. It worked out really well then after the tt based on your worrying predictions

Yeah I held off Henao at a 50% workload until the final climb in the TT where I put it up to 85%. The gradual descent also helped to not lose as much energy for the final sprint too. Yeah Henao is not a very good TTer, just glad it wasn't a flat TT or else he would have lost lots of time.
Thanks.

SRAM Tour of Gila Stage 4:

img844.imageshack.us/img844/3430/gila4profile.jpg

My SS's didn't show up, but there wasn't much to capture anyway.

So the 66km crit should be somewhat of a breather for the GC aspirants. That didn't hold back Ben King, the US Nat. Champ, and Jaun Van Heerden, along with many riders out of reach of the GC lead, if the break were to stay... 30km left and the breakaway riders have nearly lapped the peloton. 20km out and Santambrogio, Bauer and Velits all attack from the peloton. 15km left and the break briefly laps the peloton, but soon get passed again. 4km left and now the break has 1min+ and is at the back end of the peloton as they prep for the sprint. Its chaos behind (or in front Pfft )

Ivan Dominguez of Jamis outsprints...... Jaun Van Heerden of SpiderTech!!! This is a great result for the team, and the bonus money helps too.

Yeah. The SS of Ivan winning would have been messy anyway. Half the peloton is also in the shot so you would be able to tell much, other than Dominguex with his arms raised.

SRAM Tour of Gila Stage 5

img714.imageshack.us/img714/2967/gila5profile.jpg

The final stage of the tour today and we hope to hold on to our top 10 in the GC with Henao. And also with lots and lots of KOM points up for grabs on the course today we want to send one of our riders away to snatch those up. Someone from BMC or HTC should take the overall victory, with Santambrogio being the best shot for BMC and Van Garderen for HTC. This stage should not disapoint, unless your cheering for SpiderTech, then it might.

Boily went in the break today and got as many KOM points as he could, before the peloton caught up with the two man break right before the 3rd last climb of the day. (or 2nd last with a KOM ranking)

img27.imageshack.us/img27/3937/gila5teamwork.jpg
From then on BMC did the majority of the work on the front until the group started to shrink.

img651.imageshack.us/img651/2455/gila5leaders.jpg
The once full peloton has becom a group of less than 10 men with all the heavy hitters in this group like, Henao, Van Garderen, Velits, Stalder, Zwizanski, Santambrogio and Nydam.

img714.imageshack.us/img714/5229/gila5e1.jpg
On the descent two riders ( Van Garderen and Santambrogio) got a gap of 45 seconds.

img651.imageshack.us/img651/2455/gila5leaders.jpg
This group got back together on the 2nd last climb with the exception of Henao who was dropped and is nearly 1min back. The group would stay together for the remainder of the climb and Henao would stay fairly level in terms of timegaps with the leaders group, but lost a little time on the descent.

img121.imageshack.us/img121/848/gila5attack.jpg
Again the two dominant riders attacked and would battle it out for the win. But who got it?

img641.imageshack.us/img641/58/gila5winner.jpg
