Just out of curiosity for everyone having the problem:
1. Which PCM.daily DB did you install? The update or the full version?
I've been doing both (update first, then full). Error happened on both versions. |

i think update, but i doubt its about your pack
I've confirmed through testing (along with other users) that it is, in fact, an error that occurs when the pack is installed. Why is a matter I'll be looking into. |

I have the same problem with Plakkers PPDBv4. But I think it is not related to the database or the added stuff like photos, material...
The problem appeared for me yesterday when I had an USB Device plugged in while playing.
Before I've played several races on 3d without this "device error" showing up.
So I'm with you that it has sth to do with the exp pack but the pack is not the real initiator.
And thank all of you for your work on this |

I have had the same problem. Weird bug, reboot didn't help.. I think it's Starforce related... I unplugged my external HD and it worked just fine again. |

Romarinho / TankNL:
I haven't been able to find the actual problem in the expansions packs and alternative DB's (ppdb, etc.) that I've been testing with. There's no practical changes in any .exe or .cfg files, which would normally by where these drive errors would be found.
So far, my only advice is to remove peripheral devices (USB plugs, external HDD's etc.) when playing the game with expansion packs. Until further notice |

Ok I have this problem again now. My E drive or former E drive is now the K drive and I still get these errors. I also think it has something to do with Starforce because I just recently re-installed PCM08 which I beleive has its own set. It may also be that my bluetooth is connected so I will try that out. But this problem only started re-appearing since my re-installation of PCM08.

Ok I'm still getting this error. I've disable BlueTooth and have no other things like that connected. I have PCM.exe in Compatability mode, XP Service Pack 2, I have it Running as admin, and I've changed my E drive to K drive, and still I get this error. I can be your guinea pig if you like. I just have no clue why it was working for about a month and all of a sudden it stops working again as soon as I re-install PCM 08.

Hmm...
I'm sorry that I haven't seen your post before now. Was just browsing through old threads.
Would you mind providing a screenshot of your device manager, with an extended "disk drives" tab?
Do you have any modules for virtual disks installed (Daemon, Q-magic, etc.?) |

Thanks for the offer, but I seem to have it running again. I really have no clue what I did though. I uninstalled PCM08 and PCM10 worked fine. Just last Friday I installed PCM08 again and so far no problems with PCM10, so right now its working.
But for the record I have Gizmo. Its sorta like Daemon Tools I beleive, in that it mounts images or whatever Daemon Tools does.
And no problem really.

That does sound odd. Oh well, as long as the problem is solved.
Please let me know if it pops back up - We may be able to fix it |
