So let's get this right:
Landis told on Lance, US court says "good boy" and pats on the head. Next they give him a ton of money and forget about his lying in court.
Great justice system.

I can't really see how it's Lance who has frauded the U.S. government - It's the U.S. postal team direction who have signed the deal with US Postal, and I think that the team direction were aware of the drug abuse in the team?
Armstrong and Bruyneel both owned parts of the U.S. Postal cycling team. Making them guilty if the team owners and direction is convicted of fraud.

Landis may be telling the truth now, but in my mind what he is doing now is disguisting, he's done just as many bad things as Armstrong in my opinion and is getting rewarded for it with money. Unreal. |

As noted, Landis's application of the law is highly questionable, and you can bet that Lance's highly paid legal team will probably be able to throw it out.
The law is a good law. It was passed for cases like the one last year, where huge safety violations on an airline (JetBlue), that weren't controlled because the airline was cozy with the regulators, were made public by two employees. In the past, those guys get nothing, and you can be damn sure they will not be employed any time soon. Because of the law, they got enough money to not only keep them afloat, but enough to probably retire, and therefore were handsomely rewarded for coming forward about the violations.

30% of the restitution, in this case, millions.

Jose Luis Arrieta said in an interview he will retire at the end of the season. Aged 39, his professional career started in 1993 in Miguel Indurain's team Banesto and lasted 18 years. His biggest succes was a stage win in the Vuelta a España. |

Good and bad news today.
The badn news:
Vaughters with a major dick move.
He wants more Cervélo riders so he's trying to terminate the contracts of several riders on the team.
Plus, he's already told Navardauskas, a youth rider who had a contract with Garmin for next year that the deal's off.
Way to go back on a signed deal JV.
The good news:
Remember Timofey Kritskiy?
In the past two years, he finished on the podium or won several major youth races (GP Tell, Euro Champs both RR and TT, Côte Picarde).
Then he went to the Tour de l'Avenir as the major favourite. Came into the final stage TT almost two minutes behind Sicard and was on course to win the TT, quite likely by more than that and win the GC....when he crashed.
One broken leg later and he was told there was a very likely chance he'd never ride again.
Well, after spending a full year recovering, he's back on wednesday to ride a few belgian classics with Katusha.
Personally I'm hoping the injury hasn't killed his potential as he's a very intriguing rider. Intriguing simply because his development can go anywhere. From a crappier version of Marc Lotz, to a Cancellara who can climb, or anywhere in between.
