I had expected so much more from the Alps. The stage to Pinerolo could could have been ended on Sestriere and then been put over Vars and Izoard instead of taking the straight way to Briancon. Sadly the choose to put the Galibier MTF from the easy side. The Alpe D'Huez stage could have been made better, but I guess they are just trying to make it short and hope the riders will be fresh and then it will be all fireworks.

Ah, you beat me to it. I was about to post the rumours
I'm interested in the S. Pellegrino stage. Other than that, looks like a cool Giro on the surface. The hard stages are as well-distributed as they can be. From the first to the last week.

Cool Giro route. The stages looks very....well....fantastic
Many mountain stages + you have time trials (individual and team time trials).
I don't know the profile, but some of the finishes is in some windy places at the coast aswell.

I'm willing to help to finance the killing of whoever are the ASO employees who design the Tour routes. I've heard rumors that Denis Menchov and Fabian Cancellara are also ready to pay.
Seriously, 41 km of ITT. I have no words to describe how much do I hope that Schleck fails miserably in next year's TdF.
Also, do any of you have a clue on why ASO hates Aubisque? It looks like they want to ruin any attempt of having that climb in any decent stage.
On the Giro rumored route, I hope that at least the TT is long enough, but I suppose it won't. Sadly. Other than that, it looks pretty nice. |

Schleck hopes to gain time on the TTT. Guess he got Cancellara, then...

The route would have been good with one more time trial. But without, I really don't like the route. One more time trail could have saved some of the bad mountain stages like the one to Pinerolo and Alpe d'Huez.

Just remembered that Nevegal is a climb. That leaves only one ITT, the last, and I doubt it'll be longer than 15km. What a pity.
But the route, all in all, is awesome.
Edit: If that comes to be true, obviously.

I think that with both L'Alpe d'Huez, Luz Ardiden and the Pinerolo stage, it is looking awesome.

In the end, the riders make stages interesting or boring and the four MTFs could force some real battles for the maillot jaune.
In my eyes, also the ITT kilometres are ok and there should be a lot of wind making flat stages interesting

The Nevegal is for power climbers, as it's in no way steep.
I'm hoping the final stage is quite long.

Well if it's a TT then that's good, don't need another pure climbers stage

TdF route for the next year is quite good. The thing which kills the next year's route are changes in green and polka-dot jersey competitions. It will be really boring to see no breakaways wins. These changes killed breakaways.
So now, I've to hope for the great Giro.

Like both routes, but I think the Giro one is still the best. Although it's nice to see the Tour finish at the Galibier and Alp D'Huez. |
