Challenge Volta Ciclista a Mallorca Stage 5 Race Report
Last stage of the race should provide some hard attacks towards the finish and some gutsy breakaway attempts. In the team meeting before the race we decide to keep out of the break and chase a little bit if needed since our young riders weren't feeling so good, and didn't want to cause any injuries. And as always as it seems we gave Deignan to attack at will on the final climb. And as for Peterson we decide to let him hang out in the peleton for the day after his hard work during the previous stages, but told him if we want the last climb was free for him to attack to if he was up to it.
The start of the race was normal with breakaways being formed and pulled back, until a surprising rider decide to attack at the top of the second climb...
Well it was ....
7 time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong in his first race of the season. Who was way behind in the GC actually lossing time over the first 2 hilly stages and was 6 minutes back to leader of the GC Jens Voigt.
Lance now at a 2 minute gap the peleton say that Armstrong was not fooling around, even if he was 90km from the finish. The peleton picked up the pace with help of some of our riders and Lace was pulled back in shortly after his 20km into his attack; Spoiler but he wasn't done yet ...
Now at the base of the final climb everyone was back in the peleton, and the first attack again was Lance surprisingly, can't believe he still had energy. But was countered by Ten Dam of RaboBank.
Then shortly after followed by a counter from Zubeldia, Freire, and our rider Deignan.
And looked like this over the top ....
And coming down had a big group of 15 rider with a growing minute over the peleton with Deignan leading the charge.
And looked the same at the 10km to go banner.
But once we reached the flat at 5km to go a surprising rider in the bunch of 15 that was gaining energy down the side of the hill decide to attack the group.
And pulling away was Devolder.
And came home with the solo victory as Deignan finished in the group behind Devolder and came home with a 10th Place in the GC.

Q: First thoughts on the outcome of the Challenge Volta Ciclista a Mallorca?
A: Well Deignan showed us what he was to give to this team and the young riders continue to fight throught the pain, for some for these young guns this was there was their first shot in the big leagues. They were dropped on most of the stages but theat is to expected they haven't learn the ropes of cycling yet. Overall Deignan was strong and hopefully Peterson can produce the better outcomes later in the season.

Giro della Provincia di Grosseto Stage 1 Report
Heading into our third race of season we are looking for hope for the future.
Our start list is the following:
Pre-race meeting was pretty boring, we plan to sit back and watch the race until the end were we are going to test Peraud's sprint skills as their are very few sprinters in the field.
The Start -
The two breakaway groups and the chase. The 2 breakaway groups were pulled in right before the finish.
After a normal break and catch it set-up the sprint. Peraud had a okay spot heading into 1km to go.
And he was right there at the finish.
But came up just short, a better sprint stat would have easily gotten the job done today but thats not his speciality.
Note: Time Bonus were given to 1st thru 3rd, +10, +6, +4

Q: You looked a little rusty on the sprint, when was the last time you actually competed in a bunch sprint?
A: Good question, I don't even remember, I had to guess maybe 3-4 years ago. But, I got the nod today and I went all out, and came home with a 7th for the team, got to be happy about that.

I have finished the last 2 stages of the Giro della Provincia di Grosseto, just have no time to post them, maybe in the next few days but the story will pick-up fast by the weekend again. Sorry.

Giro della Provincia di Grosseto Stage 2 Report
Look familiar, this is the same stage as Stage 2 of the Giro della Calabria. After looking over the notes we toke from that race, with the attack on the final climb by Diegnan that was eventually caught, we hope to adjust our attack plan today to get a better result with Daniel Martin.
The normal break got away and was pulled back before the final climb,
Up the middle of the final climb Martin tried to make his move but his poor condition for the day barely got him 5 seconds in the front the peloton and caused a series of counter-attacks, and left Martin behind in the peloton.
With Martin's poor effort on the downside of the hill Peraud made a uncalled move and attacked, and it looked strong ...
He was gaining fast but how long could he keep up his efforts,
With the counter-attack riders in his sight,
and the peloton close behind ...
He was caught. But the riders out front held off the peloton and earned a 59 second time gap.
Note - New Results look, previous style took to long and way to much energy for my part, hope you can bare with the new style.

Giro della Provincia di Grosseto Stage 3 Report
You also may recall this was Stage 3 of the Giro della Calabria. Deignan attacked to early leading to him being caught and a poor result. So today we hope to better that performence with Daniel Martin.
Normal breakaway, reeled back in before the climbs.
The first attack group on the middle cilmb and we decide to counter with Martin who was looking a little better.
But still didn't have enough energy to catch the two attackers.
And with 5km to go the two attackers still had a good gap while Martin was gettting pulled in fast.
And with no attacks on the final climb, it was a fight for 1st and 2nd.

Vuelta Andalucia Stage 2 Report
Team meeting we hope to set out and stay in the peloton and let Quick-Step reel in the breakaway for their top sprinter Boonen. And just live another day.
Group of 5 got out on the breakaway and as aspected Quick-Step did their job bring them back with 20 km to go.
But with 20km to go Quick-Step let off the gas and the sprint check point with 8km to go set-up nicely for a sneak attack by ....
Thomas Lovkvist! Seeking the teams 2nd win of the year. And with 5km to go Quick-Step still didn't realize that Lovkvist was for real.
And under the 1km banner Lovkvist still had a lead but Boonen had his sprint train coming on strong.
But Lovkvist showed Quick-Step that they made a big mistake, and he steals a win from Tom Boonen.
