Patch 1.0.2.0
issoisso
most of us over here can't spot any difference between all the local dialects Frown

Addy291
valençiano (is it ç i know it sounds like 'th' ) uses a lot of 'x's obviously you can't tell when people speak other than it may sound slightly different like

Javea - castellano
Xabia - valenciano

you may not understand from my explanation, mainly because it isn't that good, but i know what i meanWink

"Galiciano" is something like that too, but more looking like portuguese.

yes, I know the difference. just like with Catalan and Galician, etc.

I just can't spot it when listening to them speaking Smile (except for Galicians, they speak this half-portuguese hybrid)

Addy291
it is difficult for people to spot other than Spanish people, say if you talk castellano to a man from the Valencia region, sometimes they may not even understand you at allFrown

but it is mostly pronounciations and slight word changes i think

It's similar to regional variations in accents in Britain, but a bit more pronounced Wink

And this has gone way off topic Grin

Here in Portugal happens the same. People from the north of the country, for example, change the "v" for "b". And people from Azores and Madeira I can't hear 'em in the TV because I go insane. You don't understand a ****.

only when speaking really fast.

there's pretty much an accent for every region. for instance, in Lisbon people change a lot of "i"s for "e"s. example: felipe instead of filipe.

overall, we all understand each other....except azoreans Frown

Mmmmmm i don't think so. The "castellano" is known in all the country. Maybe you want to say "if you talk valenciano to a man who only speaks spanish, he may not even undertand you correctly".

"Valenciano" is not so different to the "castellano". The most different language in Spain is the "euskera" (Basque country's language) because it doesn't proceeds of the latin.

Basque is completely different. no familiarities to any other language whatsoever. which is what puzzles linguistic experts. they have no idea where it evolved from Smile

There are indications that there is a connection with the georgian language, but they are only supposittions
