Thanks Batista! I signed a few riders, but the ones I wanted are not interested in my team. Probably because it's not Pro Tour! Maybe I can show them a big stack of cash after 1 October I'm the most dissapointed about Gusev

Jep, he has 73 Mountain abbility, but I have Johnny Hoogerland which is pretty good and already evolved to 74 Mountain stats. So I don't know if I can sign him, maybe Pauwels as a help for Hoogerland. The really good riders don't wanted to join my team. And I don't want to ride Pro Tour next season. I have to many young talents or other who can't handle that jet...
Rob Ruijgh was also dissapointing, he almost said yes and he's a good climber! But now I have to young talents in Northern classics so we will see...

“Wout what an amazing job you did there!I’m exhausted now! I could never end up at the podium because those three were from a different level. But i’m very glad I could keep the white jersey with just 1 second! What are you expectations for the last part of the season?Because of my results here, the manager told me yesterday that I would ride the Vuelta, that’s an unbelievable chance to grow as a rider! Do you have goals in the Vuelta? Not for myself, it would be cool to show the Dutch champion jersey one stage but my main goal is helping out Johnny, he’s going for top 20 you see.Well good luck then in Spain!”

We are very happy with our 4th place! A nice spot in the Top 5 but we don’t have to go Pro Tour next year. In August I didn’t ride a lot of races so I would fall a few places back. Luckily that happened, because the riders we have or not skilled enough to ride in the Pro Tour. Only guys like, Traksel, Vierhouten, Hoogerland, Carrara and Leukmans would handle that. The others were going to suffer then…

The 63th edition of La Vuelta, it wil be 3169 kilometer over 21 stages. Last years winner of the golden leaders jersey was, of course, Alberto “El Pistolero” Contador! It was between him and American teammate Levi Leipheimer who was 42 secondes behind. Spaniard Carlos Sastré, who ride for Team CSC back then, became 3th at 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Like always the Vuelta is a one bumpy ride where climbers have the best chance to go home with the victory. In Pro Cycling Manager, La Vuelta is a race were some are good which you don’t expect and some big names can’t follow because they had a tiring season. Contador isn’t going to start in the Tour of his homeland, despite what the press wrote about it. Favorites for this year are his team mate Klöden, but also Wiggins, L. L. Sanchez and Cunego. But the most bets go to Carlos Sastre, the man of the Cervelo Test Team showed a good form in Tour de l’Ain, but will he still have that form! Wiggins has also a great shape but has only 5 team mates who can help and one of them Huub Duyn, can’t get over a mountain! Then there is the old outsider Mosquera, what can he do for Xacobea. Probably going for a stage win.
Even special frames were developed by Batavus and painted very nice…

As you can see, there is not really one big favorite. I think it’s weird that Contador doesn’t ride, he is not going to win any Grant Tour, the Giro was for Pellizotti and the Tour for Andy Schleck…

Hoogerland was just able to beat Sanchez and Cunego! Woohaa…
I told Johnny, attacker as he is, that the only one he may do, was to counter attack. Never attack as first because it is import to stay fresh until the last week. But when only one rider was standing on his pedals, Johnny flew right at his wheel!

@ Misterxxt; i'm now riding normal but next season I will try on hard difficulty. Probably some races at the of the season already! (but Hoogerland also has 89 condition)
@ Valverde312; Muchos Gracias! Why do you like it more? Because of our team spirit
Well, let's see what happens in Spain...
Vuelta Stage 5 / Ciudad – Toledo
First another flat stage! Förster won already the first sprint stage and Bozic became third, will Förster win this one too? And could Bozic do better?
This looks like the right wheel, Rojas, and in front of Rojas it’s fast rider Ballan!
Again it’s Förster, thanks to a great lead-out of Stroetinga, Bozic became third! One place closer…
Stage Results
1 Robert Förster Team Milram 3h46'09
2 Borut Bozic Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team s.t.
3 Yukiya Arashiro BBOX - Bouygues Telecom s.t.
4 Koldo Fernández de Larrea Euskaltel - Euskaldi s.t.
5 Óscar Freire Rabobank s.t.
6 Gerald Ciolek Team Milram s.t.
7 Alessandro Ballan Lampre - N.G.C. s.t.
8 José Joaquín Rojas Caisse d'Épargne s.t.
9 Steven De Jongh Quickstep s.t.
10 Danilo Napolitano Team Katusha s.t.
Borut was a bit disappointed but is still hoping for a stage win! But the next flat stage will take a few days. The following three stages are mountain stages! After that, there is a big chance for breakaways. This stage Freire was the big favorite with next to him Napolitano, but both could make it happen…
In the other classifications almost nothing changed.
Vuelta Stage 6 / Barbastro - Andorra (La Rabassa)
The first mountain stage of the Vuelta and probably also the hardest. With 3 climbs with an average of over 10% and La Rabassa as final climb with the finish on top! Sastre is the big favorite for today, then Mosquera and Wiggins. Is Hoogerland able to make it in the top 20…
I was pretty excited and waiting for news in the car! Here we go!
The profile for this stage;
The first decent it were four riders who fell on the ground! Hoogerland and Leukemans too! They could easily come back thanks to the help of Westra, but Leukemans was injured and placed himself in the gruppetto, hoping tomorrow would be better!
With 60K to go and 4K to the top of the climb, it was Siutsou who attacked. Followed by some strong riders, Valjavec, Klöden, Mosquera and Wiggins! The party is already starting! Hoogerland didn’t participate in the attacks, is it because I told him too or did he suffer from the earlier crash?
Next it was Sastre who attacked, boy did he go fast, within seconds he got Wiggins…
Not much later it was Klöden, he also couldn’t follow Siutsou…
L.L. Sanchez was trying to counter Sastre but ran out of breath very shortly!
There comes Cunego! He made it to Pujol (early breakaway), but nothing further then that. They were trying to chase Siutsou back, he already had 44 seconds ahead.
At the top of the second last climb this was the group chasing Siutsou, it contains, Sastre, Cunego, Mosquera, Klöden and the two last ones were unexpected, Brajkovic and Castano. They were ‘44 behind the HTC rider and ’54 in front of the pack.
Hesjedal was chasing the Sastre group to get Wiggins back. In the descent they got them but Siutsou was still in front! Another attack from Sastre at the foot of the last climb. The pack never so him back…
Because of all the attacks the pack was suffering, Johnny was riding his own rhythm which turns out to be a hard pace! He was creating a gap with Isasi… But still Sanchez was trying to get away!
Sastre reeled in Siutsou and they had an advantage of ’24 already.
Sastre now had a gap of ’48 till the next group, it contains Sanchez, Cunego, Wiggins and Hoogerland also just arrived. But their gap to the pack was only ’14, Sanchez was pulling but still Kessiakoff was trying to attack!
Johnny tried to ride his own rhythm, taking the lead of the group chasers.
Johnny was bridging the gap to Sastre, Siutsou and Kessiakoff, who just joined the other two. The went from 1’10 to ’50!
Sanchez was the first of the favorites who cracked, this because of Hoogerlands steady pace, at least he tried. Klöden was nowhere near the front!
Then Siutsou cracked to, Hoogerland was now riding for 3th place and in front. Something unbelievable happened…
It was Kessiakoff who won this stage! Would Hoogerland be able to reach the podium!?
That little Italian pr*ck! He ride 5K’s in the wheel of Johnny and then outsprinted him on the line… Well, Johnny is still quite happy with his performance! What would his place be in the GC for now…

We could never imagine this result! We hope to stay in the top 10 for now! Our biggest worry is Leukemans, he didn’t feel good after the crash... Will see tomorrow!

Thanks Valverde321! I hope to post the next two mountain stages this weekend. But i'm not home for saterday evening! It were some spectaculair stages, next is a flat stage for sprinters or a breakaway. Then a rest day and 4 other almost flat stages. The team is still feeling good, with Hoogerland (91), Bozic (93), Poels (89) and Westra (91). Let's see what this block of mountain stages brought us, the first one you saw, the next two, hopefully tomorrow or sunday!

For those who did follow my story, thanks!
For those who didn't follow my story, screw you!
I stopped reporting because of the lack of interest for '07 games... For the ones who wanted to know...
Vuelta Espana
1. Kessiakoff
2. Sastre
3. Sanchez
4. Hoogerland <--
5. Wiggins
6. Cunego
7. Klöden
8. Brajkovic
9. Siutsou
10. Lovkvist
I'm already in the next season and i'm riding the Giro now, Carrara is in a great shape and won two stages! Those with a few small hills just before the end. I bought some new guys like captain for the Giro, Jurgen Vandenbroeck! Other names are Daniel Kreutzfeld, Joost van Leijen, Ben Hermans, Pieter Vanspeybroeck, Boy van Poppel, those are all young talents. But also a new co-leader next to Leukemans in the classic-cobble races, Vladimir Gusev! Very happy with him, but didn't win so much because of Boonen this year...
Tom Boonen 2010, Wins;
Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne
Omloop het Volk
Tour of Flanders
Paris-Roubaix
Scheldeprijs Flanders
Milano-San Remo
He also has a huge gap as Pro Tour leader on Pozzato! I'm probably riding Pro Tour next year...

Kessiakoff won 3 mountainstages while his MO is only 75 and hill 73... He beated Klöden and Sastre in those stages, just by attacking!

Disappointed to hear that you are stopping, Vacansoleil is a cool team. Hope you'll write another one sometime. |
