Normally I am not a pessimistic person, however in light of being 11th lets just hope to finish in the top 10Pfft

My top scoring rider, Wegmann, one race to go, Univest Grand Prix. Certainly he has a chance at that one.

Calzati is done, though for how much I paid for him he was worth it.

Jason Donald has Tour of Missouri, Utah and Faso, and in Missouri he has a chance for a high finish.

Haedo still has some time to atone for his less than satisfactory season: Utah, Missouri, Paris-Tours, Tour du Faso.

I can also hope for points from Duo Normand with Zirbel and Jacques-Maynes.

Tom Peterson who has proven to be my best stage racer has Utah, as does Stetina

Sinner has some opportunities though my hope is he will guide Haedo to some results as a lead-out man.

Like most of us I am already looking at Next season, this season is so... this season.

You missed the point of the post, mb2612.

Someone like Ginanni would do well in the hilly classics in the PT. But he doesn't have the mountain stat to do well in most of the shorter multi-day stage races in the way that Sammy Sanchez, Cunego or Schleck can. Therefore I'd say that kind of rider is alot less valuable.

Anyway, the riders I've mentioned are the kind that the teams going up will need to do really well in the PT. And the bidding wars may be even more intense than last season.

All of that is of course reflected in wage though - Schleck and Cunego were the 2 most expensive riders in the Renewals, with Valverde not far behind. They also tend to have the highest average - therefore less race days.

It could therefore be more viable for promoting teams to target a hills specialist, somebody like Ginanni or Hagen, and a stage racer. Rather than an all-in-one super rider.
