dont believe everything you read... https://www.nieuws...112009_004
i assume you heard about it here?
that article has no sources, quotes, all it says is that it will "be confirmed".
anyway, what about caisse? if contador ends up staying at astana and/or valverde gets a global ban, who's going to be their gc guy? LL Sanchez is still a couple of years off being a top 5 chance at the tour, and that's pretty much how many years cadel has in which he can realisticly challenge for the tour. also, neil stephens is one of their directors...
its unlikely, but its certainly within the realms of possibility
So, my first reaction when I read the news:
Poor Silence... have a rubbish season, then get the WC hoping to be more on the telly next season, and then he leaves...
And on the other side; best thing Cadel could do. He's never going to win the Tour with Silence. He's the WC for god sake, he's going to get a team either way. Even if he's gotta pull out some australian company to set up a new team.

Ballan, Kroon, Burghardt, Hincapie....there's no way BMC won't get a Tour invite

The team entry for Giro and Tour will be harder to get then ever.
I cant see Skil getting an entry next year.
Even without Skil there are 23 stronger/french teams (Cervelo, Cofidis, BBOX, BMC, Vacancoleil, Astana are non PT) and its impossible there are 23 teams. I cant see BBox and Cofidis not getting an invite.
With Evans at BMC i cant see BMC not getting an invite.
Vacancoleil had an awesome season finish and improved their squad with the Feillu brothers + the Tour starts in the netherlands.
For Cervelo i cant see the organizers denying them the entry. With last years green jersey + former tour winner (yet to be decided if he races the tour).
So i dont see which team to push out. It might be Servetto (the past strikes again) and/or Milram (not the starting right for all HIS races even though the GT's are extra) and/or Astana (Hello Vinokourov) who wont be able to start.

I actually think the invites will be easier than ever.
21 places, 21 teams that are far better than the others.

I don't really see why Evans would want to join BMC. He's complained over and over about the lack of Tour helpers - why would he join a team with zero helpers (yes, they have plenty of excellent helpers of flat road - but whenever they have to climb a mountain, he'll be pretty much alone)?

Wow, I was very surprised to hear this news. Not really nice from Evans, after everything Lotto did for him. First he lets Lotto sign Moreno as a helper and then he just leaves like that.
I wouldn't count out Skil for another TDF invite actually, they rode quite aggressivly last year and thats what ASO likes. Plus Van Hummel captured most cycling fans minds with the Lantern Rouge.
I'd put Skil for an invite actually.

I wouldn't. Unless Astana gets left out, which would be awesome, but unlikely.
Anyway, Gazzetta is now determining as a certainty that Evans will be with BMC.
