And now time for Tour Down Under stage 4
Todays stage is a stage who is fairly flat but whit a small uphill at the end. Because of the uphill the favourties today are Breschel, Freire and Paoline also riders type like Ballan and Arvesen has a good chance.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4.jpg
In todays breakawaygroup there were 11 riders one of them were Aerts from our team and his goal was to win the only mountainpoints on todays stage and he did make it.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4aerts.jpg
After some attacks a new group with 7 riders were made and in there Aerts, Poulhies, Sulzberger, Oss, Muravyev, Froome and Müller were. And they hade 50 secs to group 2 and 2 mins and 30 secs to the pack with 28 kms left.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4breakawaygroup1.jpg
And with 15 km left Aerts tries to attack away from the group and go solo almost everybody in the group counterattacked.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4aetsattack.jpg
And with only 5 kms left Aerts and his breakaway friends were caught by the pack, and Roelandts and Lloyd were up there to make a good result.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4beforesprint.jpg
It was were close between first and second place but
Team Sky gets a good start of the teams first season and takes the teams first stage win by K-A Arvesen. 2nd on this stage is his old teammate from Saxobank O´Grady and 3rd were Gasparotto. Roelandts ended on 12th positions on this stage.i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage4winner.jpg

Here are the results:

Today we have the most important stage of this tour, it´s time for Stage 5.
It´s a stage were they will ride up Willunga Hill twice and favourites today are Kroon, Pineau and Ballan. This is the stage that we hope M.Lloyd can make a good results.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5.jpg
There were many attacks at the beginning but the pack did not let anybody go away, but after several attacks Aerts were alone in front.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5aertsalone.jpg
Then Sebastien Joly from FDJ decided to make a move.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5jolyworkes.jpg
Also G.Hincapie from BMC attacks away from the pack.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/Tdustage5hincapieattacks.jpg
But Aerts managed to ride solo all the way too the first mountain top and take 2 points there.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5aertsmountains.jpg
But in the downhill section Joly rides faster and soon he´s together with Aerts and not longer after that Hincapie also did catch them.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5jolyandaerts.jpg
Next time the pack came to Willunga Hill Thomas Voeckler makes the first attack and many riders counter attacked him.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5voecklerattacks.jpg
And on the top of the climb there still were attacks and Lloyd followed Nuyens. And also K-A Arvesen counter attacks.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5arvesen.jpg
On the downhill section we could se who had attack, and L.Sanchez were alone in front and had 30 secs so a group with seven riders who were: Our own Matthew Lloyd, Florencio from Cervelo, Roche, Arvesen, Van Summeren, Freire and Gutierrez.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5sanchezalone.jpg
And they worked hard to try to catch Sanchez and somebody of them did catch him but he was to strong and won the sprint in front of his teammate Gutierrez and 3rd were Johan Van Summeren. And Matthew Lloyd rides in to 9 th place.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage5winner.jpg

Here you have all the results, notice that Aerts managed to take the moutains points jersey. And on stage 6 the last one there is no mountains so Aerts has won Tour Down Under mountain contest.

Time for the last stage in Australia it´s a complete flat stage over 90 kms so todays favourites are A.Petacchi, T. Farrar, G.Ciolek and maybe R.Förster can sprint well.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6.jpg
Attack on km 0 by G.Meersmann followed by Capelli and Reimer.
But the pack did catch them early.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6firstattack.jpg
There were 3 riders who did get some gap, 2 mins at most.
Grendene, Froome and Capelli.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6firstbreakaway.jpg
More attacks come and soon N.Sörensen were alone infront, 30 secs behind we had Grendene, Froome and Capelli 30 secs behind them another 3 man group Guesdon, Grabsch and Cruz. 50 Sec behind were the pack. Here is a picture of the 2nd 3 man group.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6chasinggroup.jpg
15 kms left and everbody were caught.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6overforsrensen.jpg
Roelandts and De Haes follows Columbia riders.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6beforesprint.jpg
When the sprint starts it looks like Breschel and Farrar is going to make a nice results, and Roelandts and De Haes will try.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6sprintstarts.jpg
The winner is Eisel 2nd Breschel and 3rd were Farrar, Roelandts on a nice 5th place and De Haes on 8th.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/TDUstage6winner.jpg

GP Costa Degli Estruchi is a flat race with favourites like Tyler Farrar, Luca Paolini and Fran Ventoso. G.V Avermaet is our hope on todays race.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCosta.jpg
First attacks from Marzano from Lampre, Strgar from Voralberg-Corratec, Fuji-Servetto cyclist A.Tonti, CSFs Frapporti and Scarponi from Serramenti.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostafirstattack.jpg
The team that took the greatest responsibility in the hunt for breakaways was Garmin with some help from Aqua & Sapone.
With 90 kms left the breakaways had 6 mins to the pack.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostagarmin.jpg
And then Negri from LRP attack follow by Dessel, Scarselli, Moletta, Ricci-Bicci, Maserati, Krivtsov, Simeoni, Marangoni and Cioni.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostaotherattacks.jpg
With 20 kms left there were 11 riders ahead of the pack and the leaders who were Scarponi and Frapporti had 1 min and 20 seconds.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostaleaders20kmleft.jpg
17 kms left and the pack had chased down all the breakaways.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostaalltogehter.jpg
Before the sprint started we had Lang up infront and G.V Avermaet behind him.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostabeforesprint.jpg
Van Avermaet losed his concentration one second and then the sprint has started and Paolini, Ventoso and Farrar had passed him, Vigano on his left.
i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/viking90pcm/GPCostasprintsstarts.jpg
Ventoso won this race and Farrar 2nd Luca Paolini 3rd and Van Avermaet on a good 4th place.
