Further examination reveals Vande Velde has more fractures than initially thought.
The guy's whole career has been a far cry from the star he could've been because of repeated injuries. And now this
*Crosses fingers for Vande Velde winning the Vuelta*

I thought you didn't like Vande Velde...

Isso's always been 'protecting' Vande Velde, saying that he's much better than what people think of him. |

Let the record show that I've been doing that for many many years, not 9 months

Do you think it will work?
I'm sort of against it personally, I know it happens in other sports (e.g. football) but cycling teams, especially one the sze of lotto, should have all they need at the start of the season (or at least sign people on long term contracts).

Agritubel did the same with Le Lay last year. The question here is if Petacchi and LPR are against it.

Can't imagine Petacchi will have a problem, unless he's desperate to take part in the Vuelta.
On a serious note, after last year, couldn't lotto could do with a few more climbers to support Cadel rather than trying to get a sprinter.

no but doing 3 GT's in a year is pretty killing so I doubt he would be able to.

This just proves how desperate Lotto is getting. With no major results so far, it's not looking too good for them. |

They may get invited since Xacobeo-Galicia got invited to the Giro (you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours). Although that's probably more to do with Mosquera ( ).
Anyway I'm going way off topic.

Petacchi says that QuickStep have also made him the same offer as Lotto
He added that he's leaning towards Lotto due to the better financial terms.
