Belohvosciks signs for Betonexpresz, Nico keinath says he has no motivation for cycling anymore due to not having many chances of turning pro.
More importantly, Mosquera broke some bones and will miss the Giro.
So now there's a very real chance Xacobeo will be un-invited. |

Mosquera is Mosquera.. So maybe Giro for Caruso or Bertagnolli?

About the T-Mobile thing. Sinkewitz said they all got out of the hotel and drove to Freiburg for a blood transfusion.
Does anyone remember seeing the time trial the day after? I sure do. I remember a pure Pantani-like climber such as Guerini taking time out of specialist time triallists. I remember Gonchar winning by a country mile. I remember Kessler and Sinkewitz who were anything but time triallists doing some of the best times of the stage.
Overall, I remember T-Mobile being impossibly good, with the exception of Rogers who was about where you'd expect him to be.
Now looking back at the results of the stage I also notice Gerolsteiner and CSC having impossibly good results on that stage (Zabriskie excepted) |

I thought all that was on the day before the prologue, or did they go to Freiburg more than once that month? |

Quoting Sinkewitz:
Either three or four times, not sure. once before each time trial for sure. |

*Adds Roberto Amadio to the list of DSs that cycling won't be clean while they're around* |

Astana is being barred from riding the Tour of the Gila by the UCI. the UCI has chosen to enforce an obscure rule which is largely ignored in the US which bars UCI Pro-Continental and Pro Tour teams from racing in small races. Pro Tour and Pro-Continental riders race national level events all the time. Why the sudden enforcement? Lance.
If the UCI enforces this rule full stop then BMC can't race Gila either. Horner has become very vocal in criticizing what it a fairly dumb rule.

Pretty dumb rule.
Does this mean Cozza and Nydam can't race local pro1/2 races around here? Does that mean that they technically can't do the 1/2/3 races at the Tuesday Twilight Crits (my only chance to race with them this year)?
Were does it end? Is there to be a new rule that only races that lance races in are the races the rule is to be enforced in?

Hmm.. Thats weird. In Denmark that rule has been enforced since the Pro Tour began. Thereby preventing Team CSC/Saxobank participating in the smaller danish races unless some kind of dispensation was given. Right now there is doubt about whether or not Saxobank is allowed to race GP herning because it's very likely to get a 1.2 rating by UCI. |

So why should America be different to the rest of the world? Get over it.

I don't have an issue with it, the problem is that they are only enforcing it now that Lance is trying to race in the us |

I'm glad to see he's brought about a lot of change for the state of cycling then. And a lot more publicity for it in America no doubt. Especially knowing how you all love to go overboard on all things that appear anti-american.

Stupid rule from the beginning. Whats wrong with that the Danish (and Swedish) gets to see their favorite team on home soil. If Saxo Bank is int allowed to ride in GP Herning, Saxo Bank will only race on home soil one time this year. Post Danmark Runt. |

The rule in question doesn't do much good for international cycling if the UCI teams can only race a hand-full of races in certain countries. How many UCI races are in the US: California, Philly and Missouri, that's three races that pro continental and Pro Tour riders can do in America. To race more they have to go were UCI races are... Europe, then were is the incentive for American sponsors to get involved if they can only advertise in Europe.
I really struggle to find any good that can come from this rule. It does no good for International cycling, which is what the UCI is mandated to push further.
