well, Freire regularly doesnt join the bunch sprint and I guess boonen did the same sometimes. so I guess it wouldnt be too hard for him to beat them in such a sprint |

From what I read on the live feed, Boonen got blocked in in the final 200m so might explain the result. As for Friere I thought he was taking it "easy" in the Vuelta for the first week or so?

well, Boonen's train came in the lead with 3km to go so that was way too early. when his train got tired boonen dropped back a bit yes.
and freire did join todays sprint but he didnt really had place to go flat out. |

oh, of course I saw valverde riding in it today, but didnt think of the fact van avemeaet would be that close then with his 3rd place today and victory yesterday it makes sense he passed valverde |
