Voeckler is really going for it. If he's in mountains leader tonight he's guareenteed until Thursday. There are no categorized climbs until Thursday.

stupid on their part, let them loose the jersey for a bit. Defending it is stupid. There's a time trial comming very soon

Voeckler is the new Jacky Durand! I love these types of riders. If it were not for their insane breakaways, the first flat stages would be even duller. |

The weather is predicted much worse than it actually will be i think. The wind is really picking up too.
Another problem in the feed station then. Not good... |

I think Gilbert will be a real threat to the pure sprinters today |

This one has to be a Freire stage today. The actual finish is flat but the hill before it is just hard enough to count the "pure" sprinters out I think.

I think FDJ are up for Gilbert too they are helping out Caisse drag it back.. Caisse should switch off soon and recover for the next few days. |

Caisse shouldn't have been at the front at all. There is no sense in it. Valverde has no chance of keeping the jersey into the mountains, so they should just save themselves for the mountains, because if a sprinter doesn't take the lead before stage 4 then a timetrialist will definately take it.
btw, are there no time bonus' for the whole of the tour? or was it just the first stage?

I think Bunch Sprint with Freire or Cavendish. I'm edging towards Freire though.

It all depends on that final climb, wonder what effect that will have... I was to pick someone id go Gilbert, if that climb has enough for him to launch from he might take yellow. but this one is wide open today. |

Soler's injury is obviously worse than he had hoped - he is dropped from the peleton

Soler is dropped
He obviously isn't feeling good. Hopefully he'll soldier on and he'll be able to struggle through and it may heal quickly. My broken wrist healed very quickly, hopefully his will too
