Right, so now I guess I know what sgdanny meant. Since I select a Giro route (I guess), one or two teams are cut out and arn't featured despite being in the startlist. How exactly do I change that? In STA_race_rules, I have added Giro d'Italia (Teams 25, Min riders 6, max 8) but no luck so far.

Send me a pm and I'll help you , give me the database and perhaps even the stage file
- Sky, Saxo and BMC deliver the most riders for the worlds elites.
- The small Belgian teams (Topsport, Wanty and Crelan) deliver no riders, nor do Bretagne and Sojasun in France.
- The small italian team combine for 3 riders (Bardiani 2, Androni 1 and Vini 0)
- CCC also has to do it with 1 rider
- Russia not making it means no riders from RusVelo either, and only 4 from Katusha
- No one selected Novo Nordisk riders either, despite 7 available nations and a great season. The Irish manager even prefed to leave 3 spots open rather then select Clancy.

False. I selected him for the U23 races, hoping he might make the break or something, and at least not get dropped after 20km.

Welcome to the World Championships. For real. We kick off the week of competition with the Team Time Trial. Oddly enough, it won’t be featured in Firenze but around Cuneo. A nice uphill descent throughout the 31,50 kilometer long route should favor a bit the likes of Team SKY and Movistar, but one never can underestimate teams like Orica GreenEdge, BMC, Belkin or Omega Pharma… but wait, Omega Pharma isn’t here. Some mix-up. Instead, Team Tirol gets the honours and is at the startlist for them.
All stars and stripes for T.J. and BMC in this race? They are handled as one of the favourites and certainly are in this race for a podium. But brewers’ boys are infamous for mostly disappointing and upsetting their manager. It’ll be interesting to see if they are kind to him today; for now it looks good. They set up a decent first intermediate time as the first team to pass the checkpoint.
Featuring Netherland’s biggest TT talent at the moment, Team Argos-Shimano is around 5 seconds down on BMC on the first intermediate. Tom Dumoulin might help the team when push comes to shovel but overall the Time Trial quantity in form of various specialists just isn’t in this team.
Garmin-Sharp’s manager has declared the podium as their goal. A bold one considering the lack of real outstanding specialists, but the team has the enough talent and the right chemistry to really make something happen. Former World Champion David Millar isn’t at his prior top level, whilst Rohan Dennis is on his way to reach the top level. Talansky & Hesjedal are meanwhile talented GC TT riders, but no specialists. 5 seconds down on BMC at the first intermediate.
Androni has the honours at the start. There were some issues about Pellizotti’s non-selection for the World Championships squad but he’s here now and the team looks for a solid final ride to close the season. At the first intermediate, they are already way down; 14 seconds on BMC.
Astana consists almost exclusively of great GC riders who just happen to be great at Time Trials too. Nibali, Fuglsang & Johnson lead the team to a new best time, equal time as BMC though.
And there’s already the big favourite. SKY Procycling is on its way and set a remarkable new best time. 7 seconds ahead of Astana and BMC. It’s easier to spot a national jersey in this phalanx than the normal team jersey. No less than 4 Champions ride here today for the British Team.
From some of the best, probably to the worst time trialists here today. Team Colombia must be here for the giggles and tv time. 36 seconds down on Team SKY is a new low.
As Belkin comes to intermediate, it starts to rain. Will the dutch team specificially mind? With Boom they have a great rider for such weather. Kelderman, Mollema, L.L.S. surely don’t mind either. But what about Gesink? Belkin is about 8 seconds down on SKY on the first intermediate. Taking 4th for now.
Katusha has 3 national champions too here today. But unfortunately for the Russian team, they don’t really equal the quality of SKY in that discipline. 16 seconds onto Team SKY, 7th for now.
It may turn out to be a great day for the podium fights, as RadioShack is 8 seconds down on Team SKY. Cancellara looks comfortable so far, leading his team with ease. But they will need to turn up the pace if they want to become World Champions here today.
Team Sagan performs… and Peter Sagan is of course in it too. With about 12 seconds down, they are in real contention here for a podium spot. But let’s see what happens the longer the race gets.
Self-proclaimed best Time Trial Team in the World, Orica GreenEdge, hit the intermediate checkpoint. 9 seconds down on SKY. Tuft & Co. will need to increase their efforts if they want to get another medal here today. Their biggest card to play is surely their almost perfect team chemistry.
News from the road: At the second checkpoint, BMC is currently leading ahead of SKY and Astana. Seems like the british team has hit the road a bit too fast, whilst BMC have really flewn over the last part.
Po-Ding Kim is almost double the size of Nokkavson. Of course North Korea’s currently brightest red star does some major work for his team, although he will leave them at the end of the season. So far the french outlet, which really had a fantastic season, is ranked 10th, 15 seconds down on SKY at the 1st intermediate.
Under frenetic cheers, BMC rushes up the last bits of road and looks to set a definite best time. But how long will it hold?
As BMC have already finished the race, lots of teams still have a long way to go. So do Lotto-Belisol. The Belgian Team looks for a solid ride with evergreen Adam Hansen in front. 18 seconds down speaks a clear language though.
Caught right in the relegation battle, Euskaltel – Euskadi look for some late points. They have a solid group here, but none of them is an extraordinary specialists. Still, they rank 7th for now, 12 seconds down. Decent enough for the basque fan favourite!
Oh, Edvald Boasson Hagen can't hold the pace anymore and he has to let go. Will this allow SKY to go even faster now or is this a way to lose the race? At a distance of roughly 32 kilometers, it may not matter too much in the end.
After a fantastic Vuelta, the South African Team MTN are proud to be here too. However, little chance do they stand against the World Tour competition. But once again, they do Africa proud to be able to perform here. 26 seconds down on SKY.
One of the favourites for the bookkeepers, maybe a bit surprisingly: Movistar. They are 5th for now, 8 seconds down. But their terrain is still to come and SKY didn’t exactly impress on the second part.
Holy shit! Astana come forward, with their talented GC riders they have a great depth here today. With some insane pace they fight for every second. They rush and rush. Clocks ticks down. And when it stops, they are just a few miliseconds ahead of BMC. 0 seconds. But it’s enough for the first spot for now!
And there comes the SKY train. Boasson Hagen hasn’t been able to help much in the closing kilometers but how did the others perform? They look to ride in perfect manner like a machine. We snatch a close up there of Froome. It’s easily a new best time, 22 seconds ahead of Astana and BMC!
CCC is another team proud to be here. 20 seconds down is quite a margin already though for the polish team.
With all but certain relegation, FDJ’s riders know they need to impress TMM to keep themselves in the french team. So far, they do what’s expected of them. 17 seconds down on SKY at the first intermediate.
A great season is behind Champion Systems with some solid scoring. With the immediate arrival of Po-Ding Kim, they look for even bigger things. But for now, they have to deal without the North Korean Red Star. That shows, 21 seconds down on SKY at the intermediate.
Well, that’s some motivation: Belkin see Team Colombia upfront and surely that’s something special in a TTT. They were 5th at the second intermediate, but we have seen with SKY just what’s possible with a perfect third part in the race. Unfortunately Belkin ain’t SKY, and they take the 4th place for now.
Vacansoleil see Team Tirol upfront already. The jokers of Tirol stand little opposition against the dutch team. Yet Vacansoleil isn’t really impressing so far, 17 seconds down places them outside of Top 10, on 14th.
The last time to hit the first intermediate checkpoint is Lampre-Merida. A solid ride from them and a bit later the second intermediate isn’t too far off either.
Now we know that neither BMC nor Astana managed to hold up to SKY in the closing parts of the race. But this race ain’t over yet. At the second intermediate checkpoint we see some solid time margins. RadioShack is about to finish the race for good now, 7 seconds down on SKY so far. Movistar, bookkeepers’ favourites, have put in a fantastic second part and are time equal to SKY. Lampre-Merida is ahead of OGE at the second intermediate, whilst Euskaltel – Euskadi look to finish within Top 10.
Of course Cancellara pulls for almost all the way home. None of his companions match his excellency in Time Trials. With such a powerhorse at the forefront, they have a good pace going on. But unfortunately for them, they just miss out on the podium. 29 seconds down on SKY, 4th.
Good ride by the Aussies, they get a 5th place for now. Surely team manager had hoped for more but maybe the form just wasn’t there today.
There comes Movistar. They have MTN in sight but they also are riding for gold now. Although they don’t quite manage to catch the South Africans, they can be proud of their ride. It’s not enough to beat SKY, but the slightly uphill course puts them into second place. Silver for the Spaniards!
Without any teams left to get onto the podium, we close with Team Tirol making it to the finish just ahead of getting caught by Lampre-Merida. Phew! Getting caught by Vacansoleil was lesson enough today, no need for another beating.
That’s it then! BMC lose in heart-wrenching manner as close as possible the bronze medal and come 4th. Astana landed bit of a surprise there meanwhile. Some close competition with a really, really unfortunate starting schedule (all the favourites at the start). But alas, it wouldn’t be the first weird stunt pulled off by the UCI.
(screenshot is from the previous race; unfortunately the print key didn't do his job...grrr)
Up top! Team SKY are the new Team Time Trial champions. Gold for Brailsford, Great Britain and The Queen. Silver goes to Spain in the form of Movistar. Bronze to Astana, Kazahkstan. BMC, RadioShack and OGE follow, whilst Belkin, Katusha, Garmin-Sharp and Euskaltel – Euskadi complete the Top 10. Vacansoleil gets honours of being the worst placed World Tour team, whilst Colombia gets laterne rouge for today.

"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V
We beat Europcar, which is something to be proud of. Had hoped to be a little bit higher up around Euskaltel. Still it's all about the "individual" events really
Quite an exciting TTT, looking forward to the rest of the races!
Didn't really think of this until now, but the WC TTT should count for the rankings. I'm thinking of giving it the Paris-Tours ranking (.4, highest CT rating).
Bah, so close, but really a TTT to forget. We could easily have made the Top 5 on our day, but well, our bad luck level hasn't quite reached BMC yet atleast.
