Just because he works on a database shouldn't grant him any favors.
Admir crossed the line in the difficult topics thread. He was warned a few times, friendly, and asked to take down the sig and the avatar just to help cool down the heat, just asking him to be coöperative and clear the air. He refused and sees himself as a victim, while he was the one taking the discussion to a personal level - a definite no-go in a discussion like that.
Personally, if it were up to me, he'd received a 1 day ban already. He was asked friendly to remove the avatar and signature just to help everyone cool down - but instead he refused and kept putting the sig and avatar back when it was removed. Going directly against the administrators. When we asked him to take down the avatar and sig and stop posting in the difficult topics thread until we came up with a set of guidelines for the general forum, we said he'd receive a 1 day ban if he "broke" these rules. Which he did; multiple times.
I'd ban him right now, but I feel I can't deal objectively with him anymore and I'd be abusing my admin-power, so I'm leaving this to the other admins. I'm just sick of admir's behaviour. This isn't the first time he's been rude, arrogant, TTspecialist or whatever. He's got to learn some manners, soon. |

Removing my avatar - You still didn't explain me what's wrong with having a Palestinian flag on my avatar, after 5 long messages. I am still waiting for a proper answer that will make me delete it.
Removing my signature - You still didn't explain me what's wrong with "When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty! Free Palestine!" signature. I am still waiting for a proper answer that will make me delete it.
About "heartless killer" - I already said for like 5 times that it went over the line a bit, so I don't know what are you trying to make out of yourself? What do you want me to do? To kiss his ass because I said that? In difficult topics? On Palestine - Israel conversation? Are you serious?
You seem to be taking out your frustration on me. Your frustrations that you cannot abuse your admin powers simply because you can't prove me wrong and simply because your best answer on first two questions above was "you know why".
I still fail to see how on this fucking earth did I provoke, besides the things I said above. What's your problem? I didn't post in Difficult Topics for more than 3 pages? Why don't you go and send those pointless messages to everyone else who was in that topic (not naming guys here) after my post? And because everyone removed their flags avatars and signatures, I should do so? No. Because it's not wrong. It just wouldn't calm the situation. Actually, this message heates up the situation even more. Which talks about how your goal is not accomplished and how you failed in doing so.
Luckily enough, it's not personally up to you. I was friendly asked to remove my signature and avatar and to stop posting in Difficult Topics for few days and I friendly refused it, simply because I have no reason to do so.
I (maybe) broke the rules only once and it's when I said "heartless killer". I see you still are getting pissed off because you can't prove your points, but that's not my bussines and I don't care about that. Also, it's true, being part of DB team doesn't give me any advantages when it comes to these type of situations.
Now I am getting sick of all of those new rules that sites brought, all of those restrictions, all of those templates out of everything, all of those sensitive guys (that wouldn't be so sensitive if politics of forum didn't change in past few months) and I am getting sick of someone trying to take out frustrations on me. No one is joking anymore. You can't enter a proper discussion, that's I agree heated up a bit by its nature, without someone going and crying like a bitch. Therefore, if you ever decide to ban me, ban me permanently. This place isn't the one I joined back in 2010 and isn't the place that used to be until a half year ago (let's say).
Also, act like an adult and do not bring past things in this. Everyone knows what happened with TTspecialist, so there's absolutely no need to bring it in this conversation. Unless you're out of your great arguments to screw me up, so you're trying to play with another cards, which is not cool. But okay, that's your problem again, I don't care a single moment about it.
Rage done.

This was rather a joke, but i agree it was not a good one.
Ian and Admir, dont be so hard one on another. Make love, not war. There are some bad moves from "both sides" , but i think nothing that cant be forgotten, right? Every man is different and Admir might sound arrogant, but he is still worthy member of our community i think. We also have a bit arrogant admin or two i can think of and still they are doing great job for the community too.
Sometimes i think that Daily would use some sort of ignore function, as it can lower the heat when two people does not go well together...
To Admir: I agree there are some changes in the forum run visible in last months. There are some that i dont like as you do, but there are also great projects going on with involvment of new admins, so i think we will get used to it.

It's simple enough really. My post asked to keep the Difficult Topics discussion within that topic - which means an end, for now, of those specifically chosen avatars or statements in signatures. (Ian had already PMed a few people about that, but I decide to post it too to make it clear to everyone) You can show your support for a particular cause in that topic, it is what the topic is there for, but don't use your Avatar/Signature as well.
It is a divisive topic, and we're trying to stop it getting out of hand. We've not had any sort of 'official' forum rules before, but when situations arise like this, it suggests that some sort of framework could be worthwhile, especially if people go against our attempts to calm the situation.
Admir is the only one who has refused to keep the topic out of his avatar/signature, once asked. If he has no respect for the Admin team, that is his prerogative, but our patience won't last forever.

Okay, it certainly is clearer now, but I still fail to understand that logic you're constantly bringing in. Anyways, I'll stop setting that as avatar for some time, just to calm all of this a bit (which is like absolutely the worst excuse ever for removing someone's avatar and has no connection to the real situation, but whatever) and just as a sign of respect to some people in admin team who actually deserve it.
Anyways, superdupermegahyperawesome Matej Mohoric makes comeback under my name on left side of this post!

In true Pedro-spirit; and now for something completely different!
I have a chance of buying a used Epiphone Les Paul Standard for NOK 2000 ($323 - £189). It's made in 2008, bought in 2011 and in perfect condition.
What do you guitarists think? Yay or nay?
I like the paint job as well, it's not a 10/10, but I'd say an 8.

I may not play myself, but that still a nice piece.

Looking over some of the reviews for this guitar, it looks like a safe bet. The price seems right for a used piece (though make sure the buttons are still flawless)
It seems designed almost specifically for rock music (or rather blues/rock), so if that's your thing, it's a great choice.
Paintjob is definitely not my style. If you can live with it, that's the main thing, though
The feel is also important. Have you had it in your hands already? And I find that guitars like that have a very definite/specific sound. You have to be a fan of it and some are not. (for example, the lowest E-string is usually very prominent in designs like this)
Should give you a nice warm sound with the right amplifier too, though, which makes it quite polyvalent, though not as much as a standard Fender Stratocaster. But good enough
However, could you find out where it was made? That's one of the most important things. If it's made in China or Korea, I wouldn't be too quick to buy it. Mexico or USA are usually top stuff.

Would you please remove that avatar, as I am a carrot and I find it offensive? It hurts my feelings. If you don't do so, I'm gonna cry and report you, okay?

I'm terribly sorry Admir, I will do so as soon as possible. I was merely trying to have a cute picture of a rabbit, but now I realise it is wrong to show it outside of the debate on the Rabbit vs Carrot situation. |

Sorry to break up this whole catfight you've kept going for some reason.
I come from a small, small, SMALL town and I'm the only one who actually does any sport. There are a few people who kick a ball around, but they show up hungover and they suck monkey tits.
Everybody sees me out on the road nearly every day, either running or cycling. No one has really payed any attention to me, but today a kid, perhaps 5-6 years old, came up to me after I stopped and said "I wanna run like you!".
I just said "that's great, you go for it" or something like that, but I nearly bawled my eyes out, untill some punk ass teens came driving in a tricked out Volvo 240, blasting stereo that costs two times as much as the car, and threw a beer can in my face. Still, a kid looks up to me!
I had to punch a deer and watch hardcore porn to feel like a man again.

Well, who would have thought: cactus-jack inspiring young kids.
Must be quite a real small town when you find deers to punch just around any corner? But actually, since I'm talking about deers: Whilst running yesterday, I saw a deer in the river, fighting for life. There was a girl runner around too, and she had called someone thankfully already. Deer got out it though the poor thing probably never wants to get close to a river ever again.

I wasn't on the forum yesterday, so I'll respond (not long!) in general as Cycleman seems to be focusing on the point of double standards:
All there is is that you can't compare a heated reaction to something else that you can get banned for. If you deliberately single out a user on various occasions across all forums, that would deserve a ban though.
Now that the rest of the Cafe has moved on from this topic, I should too. Let's respond to Admir...
