Gerrans should be more suited to Willunga.
Will be interesting to see whether he goes for the intermediate sprints early on in the stage, or waits for the final. The initial circuits run down the coast, so lf OGE want bonus seconds, might see the peleton split up due to crosswinds, if they are as strong as they were yesterday. |

As a side note, live coverage of the stage is apparently beginning from 11:30am AEST (8:30am AWST, 12:30am GMT\UTC). Think that covers basically the duration of the entire stage, if I remember correctly.
As for the wind, it is forecast to be Southeasterly at 20-30 Km/H, though if it is being particularly mean it could be as strong as 40 Km/H.

Looks like Gesink had a good dry run last week https://app.strava...nts/629108
Looking forward to the stage, might even stay up until 5am possibly...maybe.
I'm guessing Willunga's steady gradient will suit Gerro more than the 15%+ bits of Corkscrew that Evans lapped up but who knows, especially with Ulissi in the mix too.

Lobato (Movistar), Ignatiev (Katusha), Voigt (Trek) and Trentin (OPQS) the riders in the four-man breakaway.

Voigt looks like he is struggling to draft the other three with the height difference.

Malkael, are there still KOM points for stage 6? I remember last year they had it I think
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Just three intermediate sprint points and nothing else on Stage 6 this year. So it is do-or-die today for the King of the Mountains classification.

Apparently there is a headwind on Willunga. It will make attacks that little bit harder so I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for anything.

If something does happen it might be in the approach. With a crosswind due to affect the peloton in the lead-up to Old Willunga Hill. McEwen says they'll be riding in the right gutter during their approach.

Lotto Belisol are absolutely hammering along on the front of the peloton. If they keep this up everyone else will have to be very diligent to avoid a split happening in the peloton.

Those of you guys in Australia who watch through Channel 9/Gem - are you guys sick of the telecast going through race updates every 15 minutes, reviewing the same things over and over again? They should just do it once at the halfway point in the race, and then at the end of the race. Once every 15 minutes is way too much! |

Yeah but I get why they are doing it. I just wish that there was more there to update

Yeah, I understand why as well, but it just seems like overkill to me. I'd rather just more live action and Liggett commentary |
