The difference is about 1 lap, 2 if he's running a low mix to save fuel. So, he had plenty of fuel. No Renault-style tactics there.

If I remember right, Vettel was one of the first to pit, if not the first.

Gap between Q2 and Q3 :
Vettel : 1.718
Kovalainen : 1.788
Webber : 1.811
Massa : 2.218
Bourdais : 2.270
Rosberg : 2.869
Trulli : 3.144
Alonso : 3.233
Glock : 3.262
Heidfeld : 3.280
First three were quite light, second three were average, whereas the last four had obviously a huge amount of fuel. |

That's irrelevant to the point. The point is how much earlier did he pit? not much earlier, just a couple of laps.

On some French F1 forum I'm reading. No clue where it's coming from since the image is hosted at imageshack though.
It seems Bourdais' contract would eventually be prolonged for next season at Toro Rosso. Nothing's official yet though.
Bruno Senna would also be in touch with Renault, and will test the car in Jerez one of these days. He could be a replacement for Piquet, since he's also a Brazilian with a very commercial name. Unfortunately, he's simply an average pilot, just like Piquet Jr (or is Junior less than average ?).
Renault would also have said (<- notice the conditionals) to Briatore that there'll be a 30 to 40% increase to the budget next season. I suppose it's still far from 3 or 4 years ago, but still much better than this season. Good for them.

It looks to me as if that image came from the live timing thing you can run on the official F1 site. |

Apparently Alonso has extended his contract with Renault for one more season with an option for an extra-year (like he had this season). He refused to sign with BMW (too long contract) and with Honda (lack of performance ?) and was guaranteed that the R29 will be more competitive than this season's car.
Ultimately he still wants to pilot for Ferrari as off 2011.
Buemi almost had his seat confirmed by Tost for next season at Toro Rosso. |

Just saw the FP1 in Singapour. I can't say I'm too fond of night racing for Formula 1...
I don't really like the track either, too long, and obviously it'll be hard to overtake. Meh, dull F1 week-end coming our way... |

I think the track is a genius move of Ecclestone and Singapore
Race in the evening like at NASCAR , the track is long and got good curves , a fast last corner that could do some problems , 3 corners where the driver could try to overtake
The corner before Nicoll Highway , the corner after Anderson Bridge and maybe the corner after the corner after Anderson Bridge , maybe there are some possibilites to overtake but the key corner is before Nicoll Highway |

Did you really watch the FP ? I'm far from optimistic, either we'll get a race like in Valencia where almost nothing happened, either it'll be like Australia this year (lots of crashes) or like Monaco (rain + crash).

Yes
Valencia was more a high speed track , Singapore is the 2nd lowest track before Monaco , the average speed is at 175 KM/H (calculated)
Singapore got a key corner where they should have 280 KM/H before they should have to break down to 100 KM/H and that means -> Very likely that there will happen a overtake
But there will be a chance that it will rain at Sunday , yesterday there was 6 hours rain with thunder |

And once again, he was very close at driving into someone...

Oh god , you must see the reactions in some Formula 1 forums
I am in a german one (because I liked Formula 1 earlier then Cycling , but Cycling caught Formula 1 ) and I said that Massa is the next stop "idiot" (I donĀ“t know how I translate a word) because they said that Albers is too dumb to take a stop (but the Lollipopman raised there the Lollipop to early)
Now I become "Thats not Massas fault , Albers stop was his fault" etc...
Massa made a review of Magny-Cours 2007 and Valencia his year , Formula 1 2008 is full of action XD (Magny-Cours for the stop and Valencia for the Force India one) |

Nice strategy by Renault : Alonso does an early pit, then Piquet crashes immediately which puts Alonso in a very favourable position.
I wondered who would be the first driver to crash his car into a wall, Piquet was the most logical name. |

So, no one really commented on the race, although I'd say it does deserve some mention. It wasn't interesting in terms of takeovers, but in terms of drama, we got what he had paid for.
Now, please, someone explain why Massa did get a penalty for almost driving into Sutil in the pitlane this time when he did the exact same thing - just worse - two races ago? Did Ferrari run out of bribe money? |

No it was because of the dangerus gasoline long (google come up with strange sounding words sometimes) chasing him, and it could have hit Sutil

Just seen the highlights, finally. Anyone who has the speedtv version, note that the again Massa was given the "go" lights at the wrong time. Again that cost him.
As for the penalty it has nothing to do with what he did to Sutil. It's for the hose incident.
CrueTrue seems to not care about justice. he's just a huge blind McLaren fan. wow.
