Sad news indeed, but it could be a good thing for the team to get a fresh start. Gesink, Mollema and Kruijswijk have all stagnated a bit.

All because of Theo de Rooij, Erik Breukink and all the other trainers and Managers. They #$*@ - ed up and now cause Rabobank withdrawing from sponsorship |

They certainly have the dough.
Could we be seeing the first Taiwanese-based WT team?
HTC is based in Taiwan if I am not mistaken.

But the cycling team wasn't based in Taiwan, just as I don't see Rabo based in Taiwan if Giant takes over the title sponsorship.

Giant would probably make it a Dutch team indeed. They sell lots of bikes here and Taiwan isn't exactly cycling crazy. |

Oh yeah, obviously. I could see the team becoming more international next year ( if Giant takes over at all that is ) with no clear dominance of Dutch riders in the team but definitely it's not going be Taiwanse orientated.

I remember posting this about a week ago, that they might pull sponsorship because of the report and what Levi has said, as well as but I never really expected this

Yeah, the only one that could fight with Coppi and Bartali. RIP
Another bad news with the one of Rabobank |

RIP Fiorenzi Magni
Magni’s successes on the bike followed controversy relating to his fascist sympathies during World War II and his continued loyalty to Mussolini in the wake of the Italian army’s 1943 armistice and during the subsequent civil war.
In 1947, Magni was tried for his alleged part in an incident on January 3, 1944 at Valibona in the Apennines in which a number of partisans were killed. Suspended from cycling and facing 30 years’ imprisonment, Magni was subsequently cleared, and among those to testify in his favour was his fellow Tuscan rider Alfredo Martini, who had fought on the partisan side during the conflict.
Too bad, but you won't find me shedding any tears. |

The team is still existing, and Rabobank is honoring its payments, but the team just won't be called Rabobank, and they'll need a new sponsor for 2014 beyond that.
They'll be like High Road.
EDIT: Or GreenEdge, or 1t4i, or Slipstream, or Pegasus...this actually happens a lot nowadays, teams starting out without a sponsor and hoping to attract one.

Padua investigation into Ferrari caught Menchov and Scarponi talking to him through a wiretap.
Uh-oh... |

1t4i had an sponsor. They just were weirdos and didn't want to show it before April or so.

I forget the details, but Argos had an exclusive contract to support some competition in some other sport so they couldn't announce it until that contract ended.

Say I always thought the first rule of sponsorship was to get exposure for your sponsor, not hide it. |

Yeah, I knew there was a reason (I didn't know which one) for it.
Still, weirdos.
