Schleck was a bit cut up at the finish. Still down two minutes at the first time check though.

Almost three actually. That's just ridiculously bad.

He crashed and punctured before the first time check, that explains a lot.

Bit embarassing that he crashed considering he seems to be (further) saving himself for a testing attack in the up coming mountains. Might have something to do with only riding competively once or twice a year - lacks a bit of practice - winning is a habit they say

Norwegian commentators said right after first time check. |

Dauphine is a warmup race for the Tour. If you come around the top 10 that is a good sign. Beating Tony Martin in a time trial by 34" is not a good sign.

Martin is coming back from big injuries and still isn't at his best shape. Wiggins improved his TT this year quite a lot, and was best TT rider here by far with still weak-ish Martin.

The cyclingnews article says he did after 12km, and the first time check was at km 18.

In that case, it's more explainable.

As I say time will tell though Evans finsihing as high as 2nd last year didn't seem to do him any harm at the Tour |

Martin is still on some good form though and seems to have found a rhythm. Regardless, putting a minute into all but one rider indicates he is way ahead of where his form should be. I would put him close to Evans as far as TT abilities are concerned. Evans is on good form, and yet lost almost 2 minutes to Wiggins.

Evans has always had freakishly good recovery though.

Even than Schleck just looks extremely bad, Martin will improve i think just like Evans. I fear a form dip in last Tour-Week for Wiggo.
BTW: VdB did extremely well, and Nibali looked awful 3'"30"

Hmmm who to trust cyclingnews, eurosport commentatoors or Norwegian commentators it's a tricky one |

There is enough to suggest Wiggin's recovery is also good but admitedly this is more of an unknown factor hence x 3 time will tell. Though it might not of course as both come down in some stupid crash in stage 1 etc. |
