The final mountain stage, Col du Galibier and L'Alpe d'Huez.



Right from the gun it's Le Mevel and Martin.



And then from their it's chaos to join them.



Peraud is all systems go,
I guess his legs have made a full recovery after his ride yesterday.



A 4 minute lead over the first climb for this 13 man breakaway.



They gain another minute as the reach the top of the Col de Galibier.



The gap is down to 3 minutes
as the breakaway starts the final climb of the tour,
the feared and famous climb of L'Alpe d'Huez.



The breakaway starts to attack each other with 10kms to go,
Peraud is content to ride his own pace up the climb.



Back in the depleted peloton, 7 riders have broken free off the front.



And they quickely join up with the morning breakaway,
Kreuziger is out front by 30 seconds.



With 5kms to go the situation is the same,
who is going to make the first move?



It's the yellow jersey! I guess Andy thinks he doesn't
have enough time between him and Contador yet for the ITT.



And it's just that easy, another stage win for Schleck.
Contador 2nd, and Sanchez 3rd; The same order goes for GC.



Then comes group 2 a minute later.



Peraud finishes in group 3, 14th place. 1'46" behind Andy Schleck.
Peraud does lose one spot in GC to Igor Anton,
but he should be able to get it back during the ITT tomorrow.

The last chance to gain or lose time.
While many are waiting to see if Contador
can come all the way back to beat Andy,
we await to see if Larsson can finally get EA-Sony their stage win.



Larsson is on fire,
he sets the time to beat early with a great time of 57'41".



Cancellara is 24 seconds slower,
the World Champ knows early that his time could win the stage.



But he is given a reality check,
as Tony Martin almost beats his time,
coming 2 seconds short.



Lofkvist came in as one of the outside favourites
but is no match for fellow Swed, 1'34" behind Larsson.



Peraud isn't even thinking about Larsson's time,
instead he does his job and gains enough time
not only jump Igor Anton in GC
but also Thibaut Pinot and John Gadret.
Putting him into 13th overall and as the best placed French rider.



The shocker of the day is Levi Leipheimer.
The American rides the best ITT of his life and
beats Larsson by 8 seconds.
Everyone on the EA-Sony bus can't believe what just happened.



Wiggins, a pre-stage favourite,
has a nice ride but is 14 seconds slower than Levi.



Then comes the man of the hour, Alberto Contador.
Needing at least 2'46", Conta doesn't disappoint ...
He puts up a time 4 seconds slower than Levi,
which in return pushes Larsson into 3rd.



Meaning Andy needs to come to the line before 60'22" to keep yellow
and win the Le Tour de France. And crowd goes crazy
as the board lights up with a 60'17"!
Andy Schleck holds off Contador by 5 seconds! Unbelieable!

140 riders have made it to the final stage, let the celebration began.
Well expect for the sprinters as the green jersey is still up for grabs
and everyone dreams of winning on the Champs-Elysees.



Brice Feillu gets some early TV time falling early into the stage.



Larsson leads the 9 man breakaway onto the Champs-Elysees, w
hat a feeling that must be.



What a sight, the breakaway mind as well take in the view
as the peloton is just 3 minutes behind.



There is no way the breakaway is going to survive today.



But as Larsson tries to push the pace around the bend he goes down hard,
the peloton are coming up fast. Close your eyes this doesn't look good ...



It's a massive chain reaction! Riders going down left and right ...
Larsson causes the biggest crash of the tour
in the final 20kms of the race.

Peraud gets through lucky!
The biggest name being Contador,
but the biggest news is Frank Schleck withdrawals with a fractured hand.



And with both green jersey hopefuls crashing this stage is anybody's now.
And Farrar will seal his first ever green jersey.



The old spanish sprinter Óscar Freire wins the biggest sprint stage of the year. The victims of the major crash come in 4'10" later,
meaning Peraud goes from 13 to 11 in GC with Frank withdrawing
and Alexandre Vinokourov losing time.
Andy Schleck survives a scary last stage to win his first grand tour!
And Contador drops to 3rd overall to Sanchez.

One last race for the team here in July,
Thomas Lofkvist will lead the team
and is the odds on favourite to win.



Two 5 man breakaway groups get away,
Hayman represents EA-Sony in the lead group.



The second group trails the first group by a minute for most of the day.



22kms to go, and team leader Lofkvist goes down! Just our luck ...



But not to fear, he gets up and makes his way back to the front just in time to attack as the breakaway is pulled back with 8kms to go.



From crash to celebration, Lofkvist wins the race!
