Good sprint to watch. Cav timed that well. He is extremely puffed in the interview. |

I'm not suprised really, thats one of the quickest post-sprint interviews I've ever seen.

Pleased that Cav got his win for the race - still one for winning at least one stage in all 3 GTs this year then.
Chicchi couldve been unstoppable had he followed Ciolek's move - too bad Ciolek didnt keep going.

That's Cav's second stage win the Giro this year! (I'm counting the TTT too) |

Luckily for you, most norwegians are out, celebrating our national day (Norway's birthday, whatever you name it), so they won't jump on your laughs off Kristoff

Anyone watching the English interview with Cav? That background is trippy. |

The breakaways haven't god any success in this edition of Giro d Italia. According to my brain - which isn't reliable - none of the "early breakaways"had gone home yet. Do you think it will happen tomorrow, or do you think the favourites and the puncheurs will fight it out for the final battle? Anyway, a very interesting stage, which i guess Di Luca can win, if Katusha will control the field.. |

Damn. I'll be back in the next (and last) flat stage, though.
And yeah, tomorrow a breakaway win is very likely. |

Well done by Cavendish, with Ferrari and Appollonio also doing some good results too. |

I don't get the hype of Kristoff.
I mean when he was an U23 rider, he regularly got his ass kicked by non-top sprinters like Coen Vermeltfoort. And then when Bos was at Rabobank Continental, Kristoff got beaten even worse.
He is at best a 3rd rate sprinter. |

Unfortunately, he is Norwegian - and that has somewhat of an impact upon some here...

There is no hype about Kristoff. It's just that norwegians gets very "into" a sport when they find out that norwegians are doing good. And of course a few norwegians have to express that. Therefore they go to forums like this to express the awesomeness of the norwegians.
So there is no hype, just a few norwegians explaining the rest of the world how good norwegian cyclists (in this case; athletes, skiers, whatever in other cases) are
Edit: And now I might have to run my ass off, putting words in all norwegian mouths

Hunter seems unamused that he had to set up Cardoso who failed completely

Several riders are complaining that Cavendish shouldn't even have been at the startline today. Apparently, he was helped by a team car in order to be able to complete the Etna stage within the time limit.
“He should just be happy that he’s still in the race,” said Ventoso. “He should have been disqualified for holding on to his car up the climb of Etna. It’s a shame, because everyone is having a huge struggle to get up within the time limit, and then there’s someone who clings on to his team car without the judges doing anything about it.”

My questions on this would be.
- How does Ventoso know, when he finished 2 minutes ahead?
- What about the race commisaires? - Ive heard in pictures of Cav finishing on Etna, a commisaire motorbike is visible behind him
- Did HTC also give a lift to everyone else who finished in Cav's group?

1) No idea, but presumably other cars see Cav holding on to the HTC car, maybe they were all complaining, just only Ventoso went to the press about it
2) Not sure, but possibly because Cav is an excellent sprinter, so the Giro looses something if he is disqualified. Also Cav has a habit of throwing hissy fits so may not come back, which would harm the Giro. Also the commisaires caan't be everywhere
3) Cav could have been off the back of that group for a while, then made his way back up after taking a rest.

2) The comissaires have nothing to do with the race, as stated in another post in a giro 2011 thread, the comissares are made up of an unbiased bunch.
