Not exactly. The RFEC's disciplinary commitee has recommended a 1 year ban. Contador has 10 days to contest it, before the main RFEC organs issue the final ban.....which I'm hoping will be taken to CAS by either WADA or the UCI.

Contador said that "he can't accept any ban", so he may appeal.
But my predicition about AC's 2011 is starting well. I can already see him in red in Madrid in 8 months. |

Wow. If the ban stays through, when does he come back?
So now Shleckelton has won his Tour. Wonder how he feels? |

Well, as always happens with my predictions, I fucked up. Conti's ban would start on August 24th, so he won't be able to ride the Vuelta 2011. |

What a joke. Ban him for the whole season, they may as well give him a 6 month ban. |

Should have been 2 year ban, but well have to wait and see. Will Contador retire as he said if he was banned he would?

Lots of riders say they'll retire. Then they don't.

He's effectively banned for the whole season, as his season always ends in the TdF, and he won't be able to be in the Vuelta either.

No effin' way. But he said he'd appeal against any ban, because it'd be "unacceptable" to ban him. Your turn Bertie. |

How sure are you of the Vuelta thing? Danish media report that he will be out of the Tour de France, but will be able to do the Vuelta. |

Hah. It worked. I actually said in the 2011 expectations thread that Contador would be able to evade a ban and win the TdF again. Of course everything I predict will not happen. |

That's what the Spanish media is reporting. According to the UCI rules, the suspension starts from the day indicated in the positive notification to the rider. The notification to AC was on August 24th, so that's the day his suspension is supposed to start. |

Contador should be banned for 2 years.
People like Basso got banned for 2 years 'cuz the name of HIS DOG was found on some bag and he accepted it. Dogs name was enough to ban cyclists for 2 years.. ? |

Alberto has announced that he'll appeal the ban to the CAS. |
