Apparently the first ballot box lorry turned up at 10:01.

Did you also see the first box not actually checked - it has tags on it which they're supposed to check, then cut off - they just cut them off.
Hastiness encourages mistakes!

which is a strong indication of national voting intentions, especially given it's a labour safe seat.
EDIT: if 8% swing replicated nationally, we'll see a Tory majority government

I'm confused, yeah it's bad, but if 1,000 people turn up at 10 p.m. what do they expect to happen?

What should happen is they should then stop people queueing - not stopping those in the queue voting.
Some polling stations have stayed open longer because of queues

Our whole voting system/process is stupid.
Needs looking at in it's entirety

You'd think our system couldn't get any worse. Guess again
EDIT: Washington next - given the Nissan car plant success, Labour will certainly keep it if not increase their majority

Labour are claiming that 600 people in my constituency were turned away because the electoral lists were not updated, and so they were not allowed to vote - despite having registed.
And we are very much a marginal seat, so somewhat of a controversy

Reports coming in about disgraceful situations in terms of voters turned away:
- The queueing problem appears to be widespread over the whole country
- Polling stations not having enough ballot papers
- 600 people in Chester not able to vote as stations don't have the full electoral register (last MP won by 900 votes)
Disgraceful. This is going to be messy, with lots of legal challenges in closely contested seats
