Stage 17
Lienz - Monte Zoncolan
Moment that I have been waiting for Zocoloan..one of the greatest stages of cycling.
(Has the AI give us just 3 bottles..real life saying is thrue.."That is impossible to attack at Zocolan" there it gonna be lot's of pictures's.
Last climb before Zocolan..Simoni atacks. Panic starts Tschopp atacks (first time in Giro)..Schleck (he is out of he's top form not need to worried), Savoldelli (If this guy decided to go..Cioni doesnt have enough power to follow him at Zocolan)..Rujano is only reason why I should follow..Cioni makes a decision to leave he's speed burst later. Later on Caucchioli..Piepoli. Cioni still wait.
Savoldelli caches Simoni..now we have strong duo in the lead.
Happy to be right sometimes..peloton caches Piepoli, Schleck, Caucchioli..and later on Rujano. I belive they are out of the game at final climb.
Great tactic play for Astana..Simoni and Savoldelli caches early breakaway rider Navarro..who helps downhill section Savoldelli has long has possible.
Zocolan..Cunego, Di Luca and Caucchioli atacks. They passing Navarro..Caucchioli cant follow strong duo..he is alone now. Cioni still waiting at the peloton..he's feeling quite good today (easy ride so far)..if something dont happening. He makes he's own short atack and solo ride at 10km. to go mark.
7km. to go..Cunego and Di Luca working fine together..they are closing to Simoni and Savoldelli duo.
9km. to go..Cioni makes he's short atack and then solo ride. As Arroyo moved front at the peloton..gap between Cioni is stable 15sec. ..then it starts to grow..23..28..35. This is working. Caucchioli is to far off..and gap between him is already 3min.
Last km. starts and Cunego with Di Luca ar in the stage win game. Great timing. First time I see that Di Luca has a little difficulty to follow.
Very..very close..This isnt sprint stage. This is Zocolan. Savoldelli wins the stage by 20cm. Simoni 3rd.
great ride for Cioni..road behind him is empty. After race Caucchioli and 5th. place is gone. But with perfect TT 6th. place might be possible.

Thank you..as seems that main goal top 10 is almost achived. Cioni personaly want to get even better..top 6. Key for that is perfect form timing..just in absolute shape most important mounatin stages. Guy who has been great at the first 10 days like Kirchen, Nocentini, Schleck is tyred. Cini likes to beat at least Rujano and Piepoli who's form is fading. |

Stage 18
Udine - Riese Pio X
Rest day for climbers..before last hilly stage's and most of all TT.
But we have to talk about sprint..has Predictor-lotto sprinters are long time ago. Then they just observe today..and try to awoid falls. there is kind of second hand sprint..because most of the main sprinters are already abandoned the race.
Milram trys to settle perfect position for Sacchi.
now Sacchi sprint's ,Usov on he's backwheel and Dean.
But it's definatly not booring..what a sweet win for Usov..just in the line. davis, Bennati and Bettini must be so tyred. They are completly out of picture. But I belive this is matter of bride and they will be back in final stage.

Stage 19
Treviso - Comano Terme
Last hilly stage..lets see anyone has something left to atack on that last climb. or they just gonna keep himself for decisive 42km, TT
No holding back this is shure when we had 80km. to. They are cached breakaway group (with Unibet team rider Larsson who has been permanent breakaway rider on this Giro). Bettini atacks..also Caucchioli..Ricco (he has been almost unvisible so far).
Here they go..quite decent breakaway group Caucchioli, Bettini, Kirchen , Bruseghin (in action again..he was great in TT and 15. stage..Cioni wasnt able to follow he's pace), Ricco (so less activite for him at the all giro..he has always been around 10th. place..but he never has atacked).
30km. later..this is it. Peloton caches that..group. Good news for Cioni ...he need to try something agains Caucchioli today, and fight thrue the end to take he's dream 5th. place (6th. is more realistic for me).
Climb of the day starts..Parra atacks..Bettini trying to follow, he cant. Last long breakaway ride has taken all his power.
Di Luca, Savoldelli, Lövkvist..and surprise from Dekker he also atacks(terrible Giro for him so far). later on Rujano..Cino is ready this is dangerous rider for he's GC place..he counters.
Di Luca has gone..Rujano cached Savoldelli back wheel. Cioni is strugling...he give's a lot of energy..and he made it. He is just behind at Rujano's backwheel.
More rider's has joined the same group Simoni come and go's he is after Di Luca. Seems like Cunego is tyred today..he stays in that group..also Rebellin, Nocentini. Now we have nice strong group...and where is Caucchioli and Piepoli`? (still in the peloton).
This is moment what I have been waiting for..Rujano cant follow. He has been peaked he's form for hugh mountain stages. I will try smach him at tomorrow TT.
Situation: Simoni closin a gap between Di Luca (they have 1min. lead), Group nr 2. Nocentini, Rebellin, Cioni, Savoldelli and Cunego.
Simoni caches Di Luca and also passes him. Great win..thinking that Simoni was aiming he's top form at the third week. Podium place for shure.
Cioni finishes with Nocentini, Savoldelli and Cunego. Rebellin was no able to follow at last few km.

Rujano is fading. you can get him with Cioni, but it should be close. it'll depend a lot on form of the day
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Stage 20 (TT)
Ok..Cioni it's up to you. Can you beat Rujano and get a 6th.
Tom Danielson sets the first fast time..at he end (12th ´+1'23)
McGee has been super the all Giro today..(3rd. +15)
Bruseghin...another great TT (2nd, +8sec)
Cunego (10 +1'21)
Cioni looks good.. Rujano looses more then enough he is 6th in GC and also 6th. today +44sec.
Di Luca 8th. +1'20.
Savoldelli takes another stage win.
Sru. some how I losted most important exported result..but maybe this can help us out,
and GC...
