All the guys finishing safely in the bunch today

Solomennikov/RusVelo, Curvers/Giant Shimano, Salomein/Topsport Vlaanderen and Janiszewski/CCC Polsat are the four riders in todays break of the day

Orica GreenEdge are leading the chase over six minutes behind

The rider with the most to gain from this breakaway is Janiszewski who lies in 18th at 32s

Third on the GC Bos/Belkin is really suffering today and is in a group of four riders right at the back of the race over six and a half minutes behind the peleton

Hardy/Cofidis and Tjallingii/Belkin are giving chase after leaving the safety of the pack

Orica GreenEdge are setting a relentless pace on the front of the peleton as they continue to reel in the break

With the race back together again almost immediately Preidler/Giant Shimano goes on the attack

Sutton/Team Novo Nordisk attacks into the final kilometre closely followed by Georges/AG2R

And he holds off the Frenchman to grab a hard fought stage victory

What a Great day for the team today, Gary Sutton not only unexpectedly wins the stage but he is now in the leaders jersey as well

With a lead of 4m 23s it looks like Van Hoecke/Topsport Vlaanderen, Kovalev/RusVelo, Bessy/Cofidis and Honkisz/CCC Polsat have been given there freedom

Honkisz is still trying to catch up after the intermediate sprint

Sutton/Team Novo Nordisk looking well protected in the Leaders jersey

2m 57s according to race radio is the gap

The leaders are approaching the last twenty kilometres

Giant Shimano and Orica GreenEdge are once again controlling the pace of the peleton

Just inside the five kilometre banner they get caught by another four riders, Feillu/Vacansoleil, Phinney/BMC Racing, Farrar/Team Novo Nordisk and Kern/AG2R

Phinney leads everyone under the flame rouge, this is going to be too close to call

But he just gets pipped on the line by Tanner/Belkin

Unfortunately Race Leader Sutton was caught up in a touch of wheels with Mate/Cofidis and as a result both riders have had to abandon the race although Sutton was put in the ambulance and it was later diagnosed he had a fractured skull

Salomein/Topsport Vlaanderen, Preidler/Giant Shimano, Hardy/Cofidis, Morajko/CCC Polsat and Solomennikov/RusVelo are ahead with a lead of 6m 47s

Bauer/Team Novo Nordisk has taken over the role as team leader after the retirement of Sutton yesterday

BMC and AG2R are now sharing the pace setting at the front of the pack and are beginning to eat in to the breaks advantage

The pursuit from behind is now in full swing and the lead has already been halved

Race Leader Georges/AG2R is being well protected at the front of the peleton

Dombrowski is doing a good job in getting the Team Novo Nordisk train towards the front

With five kilometres to go the breakaway finally surrenders and once again it looks like we will be treated to a mass sprint finish

Team Novo Nordisk launch a three pronged attack but can they hold off the rampaging pack behind

The answer is no as Feillu/Vacansoleil powers past to grab his second stage win of this years race

Brave effort from the guys today despite having nothing to ride for

Only two riders decided to go on the attack today, Honkisz/CCC Polsat and Lemarchand/Cofidis

6m 6s is the latest time check

British Champion Stannard/Sky Procycling has been sent to the front to try and reduce the advantage of the duo up the road

Race Leader Georges/AG2R is getting a bit worried at the gap not coming down quick enough so has got a few of his team mates at the head of the peleton

Its still over six minutes as they enter the final twenty kilometres

The lead has started to reduce but have the peleton timed this wrong

Team Novo Nordisk have now taken over the pacing duties

Lemarchand launches his move at the red kite as the peleton accelerates into view

And its a perfect move for the Frenchman has he grabs the stage win
