Update: broken collarbone

Guess that's it for his season. Unless he decides to go to the Vuelta.

again, i can only speak for britain. but over here there is no road cycling at all on terestrial tv.

WRONG! TDF and TOB on ITV.

oh yeah, forgot about that. but to be fair that was only last year because of our success at the track world champs and the fact it started in london the year before. plus the government was running a campaign to get more people riding bikes when "carbon footprint" was the new buzzword. the interest will prob have died down by this summer with the memories of the olympics a distant memory. and wasn't it itv4 not the main channel? so it's not terestrial tv.

of course the Road Worlds and the BBC used to do the tour of britain.

But let's not take terrestrial tv for anything. They show:
-Football (not much of that either. Sky's got it all)
-Rugby
-Tennis
-F1
-Athletics (every so often)

That's it.

how much coverage though? was it a nightly thing or just 1 programme. i don't remember watching it.

and doddy, yes the worlds do sometimes get some coverage on sports saturday. but that was only this year cause Nicole Cooke won. i don't remember it in any previous years apart from eurosport. didn't they show it on BBCi last year with a few highlights on BBC2?

doddy13
the first weekend was Live. I remember it well.
The rest was highlights. But thats what you expect from ITV. They have loose women and Jeremy Kyle show

I don't know about that. I'm sure they do limited Skiing, as well as Golf, Snooker, Horse Racing, Boxing, occasionally on interactive Darts and Bowls, and even American Football now (despite the fact practically no-one cares about it here). I didn't mention Cricket, but the amount of coverage of that is pitiful imo. So, more cycling coverage please Smile

Bad news for Lance Armstrong I wonder if he doesnt get the chance to win the tour de france will he back next season, the way this season has started for him i will be very surprised even though im glad he's back because cycling really hit off for me the year he retired, so i really didnt get the chance to see him race. Glad contador is back in the tour this year, missed him last year.

I think this will be an interesting tell why Armstrong really did come back to cycling. If he really came back for cancer, he'll still try to ride the Giro or at least the Tour whether or not he's in shape. If he came back to win an 8th, he won't ride the Tour. Or that's what I'm guessing...
