Deutsche Meisterschaft - RR
The sprinter teams seems to expect a win here. The big question is whether they have seen the profile, which surely will be challenging to keep things together on as well as getting Kittel to the line in the first group.
Thurau, Klier, Voss and Reimer form the early break. That leaves Argos as the only team big enough to actually control anything in the peloton.
The gap steadily grows and with 50 km to go it’s just over 8 minutes.
Here end the dreams for Cannondals as Koch hits the tarmac on the wet descent.
Looks like the big riders aren’t quite as eager about winning the NC as their managers are…
With 35 km to go they have completely stopped chasing and the win will surely go to the break.
Thurau was first to attack out of the peloton and first to attack out of the break.
He was caught quickly and countered by Klier.
The Garmin rider has just as little luck getting a gap though as Voss and Reimer both seems to be content with a sprint.
Klier gives it another go with 11 km to the finish line.
This time slightly more successful as only Voss can follow him.
The NetApp rider have looked strong all day and with 8 km to go he decides to go solo.
He goes full retard on the wet descent hitting topspeeds of close to 80 km/h. Either this will result in a beautiful win or a terrible accident.
Voss gave it his all and was too tired to even celebrate, but surely his manager can take care of that part?
Klier is caught and passed by Reimer in the final km after a brave ride.
Martens have attacked from the peloton for 5th place and suddenly all the big names want to race?
Degenkolb and Kittel rocketing past the rest with no riders to see ahead muct be what the Argos-manager dreamt about seeing.
To bad the break is already done with both doping testing and showering before the podium ceremony.

Paul Voss Legend!

NetApp never goes full retard.
After Voss' stage win at Romandie, his second big win this season. And yeah - Wangen will be destroyed today by NetApp! Party time!
Thanks Selwink, too bad for MTB but you have collected some jerseys already if I remember correclty.

Thurau in 3th was a surely a surprise, good that he attacked. he know that a break would make it. you can't do anything against the Dynamic Duo of Argos |

Thanks for reporting that. Unfortunately it wasn't what I had expected, but an open race will fotne mean a breakaway win in PCM

I'll do one more if you want, or even two. I'd prefer Spain.

Spain – TT
Spain may not be a nation of excellent Time Trialists, but honestly, few riders could match the power of Spain’s finest on such a parcour. The route around Salamnace offers quite a climb in the middle and a long, long descent to Salamanca. It’s natural that guys like Luis Leon Sanchez and Castroviejo are among the favourites, but with the climbing intensity Contador, Valverde and maybe even Purito on a fantastic day are set to have their eyes on the red-yellow jersey.
With Castroviejo, one of the big favourites hit the road early. However, Samuel Sanchez and Benat Intxausti, two fellow basques, have already achieved a good time at the intermediate and they’ll be a the top spot of the intermediate for quite a while.
A while later, Castroviejo is 36 seconds down on Samu Sanchez at the intermediate. And Sanchez has only just come into his favourite portion, the downhill secton, where he’s flying down. Simultaneously, Contador, Valverde and Purito have set out to try their luck on the hilly parcour.
Contador dances up the climb and looks fit. Surely, for him this climb is a welcome opportunity to take some time on his rivals.
With a very good TT, Intxausti heads into the finish. He has been 12 seconds down on Samu at the intermediate, and it’s now at the finish line about half a minute.
Meanwhile, Intxausti’s teammate Valverde heads over the line a little bit later: Surprise, surprise. Joaquim Rodriguez leads the intermediate classification in the end. But will it be enough for the descent and the flatter parts of the course? Contador and Valverde are certainly close but Samuel Sanchez has also proven to be quality in this race. Disappointing maybe a bit is defending champion Luis Leon Sanchez.
But there's no time to rest for Purito as he heads into the finale 10 kilometers. With such an attitude is no surprise that he takes a little bit later the best time by 9 seconds!
But don’t even dare to believe that Joaquim Rodriguez is safe yet. Contador flies into the finish and takes the new best time. With Luis Leon Sanchez and Ion Izagirre coming unbelievably surprisingly close to Contador’s time, the eyes are then set on Valverde… who…
…takes the win and the jersey of National Championship in Time Trialing! Congralutions to him and Movistar, although they have stated they don’t really care about National Championship jerseys.

National Championships Spain – Road Race
Straight from the Time Trial route, we head to the Road Race. It’s the same old favourites, add some more riders. The peloton’s size isn’t all too big, and there may be a breakaway win. The route leads around Salamance, offers repeatedly the same climb and should make for a good day in the saddle.
The breakaway has formed itself early on and it looks like a tough day of work ahead for Movistar and Katusha: De la Cruz (TNE), Hernandez (TST), Lobato (EUS), G. Nieve (OGE), Arroyo (CJR), Garate (BEL) and Zandio (SKY) form the breakaway in considerable worse weather.
As the riders pass the finish in Salamance for one of the many laps ahead of them, Gorka Nieve leads them in the rain. The road has some dangerous turns and now with rain coming into play, there may be the risk of crashes heightened.
Though at the back of the group, the cards are looking good for Lobato, who certainly has the fastest legs in a possible sprint. However, Movistar and Katusha have always kept the pace high and are merely 3 minutes behind the breakaway, with 40 to 50 kilometers left. A solid effort from the guys but it looks like one of the main favourites wants to make a move soon.
Purito wants his jersey and attacks at the top, 35 kilometers out. Valverde and Samu Sanchez follow. In the peloton looks change to Saxo Tinkoff, but they still have Hernandez upfront. Instead, Intxausti and Igor Anton attack too now, and catch up soon to Samu. This race is fastly down to the few road leaders and the breakaway, which is still at large.
Arroyo ends the harmony in the breakaway by attacking, 17 kilometers out. Hernandez is there to follow. Meanwhile a bit down the road, Valverde has caught up to Purito. Samuel Sanchez is chasing alone both of them since he has dropped both Anton and Intxausti.
Neither Arroyo nor Hernandez could get away though. In the last time climbing this hill, Lobato seems all too certain to take this jersey here. Young rider Gorka Nieve leads the bunch over the top and goes first into the descent.
This time it’s for real, the last 5 kilometers. They are still together and Purito and Valverde havn’t reached them. Arroyo tries another move. But Garate closes the gap!
But Garate not only closes the gap, he actually puts in a counter-surprise move! Is this enough? Lobato sees his jersey dreams fading away slowly as he knows he has to be the one chasing now!
There he comes though, with all the speed in the world. This is Lobato’s, with still a kilometer left!
Gora Juan Jose, Gora Euskaltel – Euskadi!
A clear victory for him, who was daring enough to attack today early out and had then by far the fastes legs. Zandio, De La Cruz finish up next to him at the podium. Young basque Gorka Nieve takes 4th!

BEAUTIFUL!!
On paper Lobalo would be a good bet in a sprint here. Good job by him making sure he got to sprint in the front group
Also I assume everyone have noticed that it will be a non-basque rider wearing the jersey. We still want our own country and the Basque Race Series promoted to NC
