Anthony seems to be putting in some pretty decent rides Wink

@sutty68: I have always wanted to get over my limits in each race I'm part, this is what makes me progress.

Stage 5

That stage ended again in a mass sprint, I was supposed to lead out Marcel toward the sprint but when I was right behind Matthew Goss, I realized Marcel was not following me, he was too far. I just stayed in the split stream of Matt and I finished the stage 7th position, John did 5th.

The Time Trial, 17,4 kilometers of pure suffering, I gave everything I had not too lose too much time but it seems like I had to work a lot on that discipline, I ended 54th, 1'13 after Fabian Cancellara who won the stage.
The good news of the day was the second position of Tobias Ludvigsson.

Stage 7

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/PCM0007_zpsbb9b37de.jpg

The last stage of the race also meant last chances to move up in the GC. This morning I asked the manager if I was allowed to go in the breakaway, he did understood my plan but he trusted me, we already had Tobias at the 4th position, and a rider in the breakaway was not a bad option.

This was the last stage for all of us and many teams did not have shine yet, this is why we ended up to have a 18 men breakaway, I was at the initiative of that group. In the car when they saw that we were so many they decided to send me a team mate, this is how I had Fredrik Ludvigsson with me.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/s07/PCM0001_zpsfd6de563.jpg

In the pack, the reaction was not the one I was expecting, they did not do anything, BMC and Belkin were at the front but they had no motivation to get us back. Plus the fact that Giant - Shimano was always at the front imposing a false pace was realy helpful to us.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/s07/PCM0002_zps3790818a.jpg

In the group there were some very talented riders, The World Champion Alejandro Valverde ( MOV), Rui Costa ( LAM) and my former team mate Jussi Veikkanen ( FDJ).

I was aiming the stage victory, but with all these riders I was afraid of getting to the finish with all of them.
This is why with 28 kilometers I decided to use the cobbles to get away from the group, the pack was getting closer and the entente in the group was not that great. I entered the cobblestones sector with a lead of 3'13 on the pack.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/s07/PCM0003_zps83c4d8d2.jpg

Behind me, it was now a man hunting, they had recover the entente of the beginning and there were getting closer to me. The pack however had lost time on me, I was also the virtual leader of the race, I was now alone against the rest. My gap with the 2nd group was up to 27" and with the pack I had now 5'05.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/s07/PCM0004_zps7ce9c922.jpg

When I saw the banner of the last kilometer I had some relief, it was almost over. I used another cobbles section to increase my lead and I was now quite assure of the victory. The thing was that I had no idea of where was the pack, I was focusing my ride on the stage victory, the rest I would see later.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/02%20Eneco/s07/PCM0005_zpsd9169d67.jpg

I took the time to enjoy, to celebrate, I knew my dad was somewhere in the crowd, I was searching him and I finally crossed the line, I felt off my bike, I had given everything I had and all my resources went away. But the most important was that I won.
After recovering from my emotion, I learned that the pack was more than 6 minute late, I had taken the Overall Victory, what a day it has been.

I waited for my team mate to arrive and when Fredrik crossed the line I felt in his arms, he was part of this, without him I would not have been able to do that.

I think this is is the best day of my life, I would not have expected this to work, but I wanted to try. I think I will never thanks Fredrik enough and I want to think the team for the trust they gave me, without that I would not have been able to do such a show.
I will ow rest before starting the Vattenfall Cyclassics.

@sutty68: Thanks, I'm really happy to win that race, it was one of my objectives this season Grin

@welker3257: I've already get many bonuses Wink but the pay raise could be a good idea Pfft, although I'm not riding for the money but for the fun and the pleasure it gives me.

THis morning on the website of the site, there was that communique of my manager, I was really pleased to see those words, it means a lot to me Grin

Last year, I had a phone call from a certain Louis Louveille, he told me that he was the agent of a young rider who was currently under the colors of FDJ.fr. Of course I knew the rider, he already had a name in the pack and every time we were riding against him, he always was where we expected him, at the top. This is why we offered him a chance to ride bigger races in our team. The boy took part in only two races this season, he started in Poland, 2nd in the Overall Classification. He then went to the Eneco Tour, and there he did something I would not have expected. The morning of the 7th and last stage he asked me if he was allowed to go in the breakaway.
I did not understood on the moment but when I saw the 19 riders I knew he had prepared this well. He also had the courage to attack while many riders would have stay in the pack thinking that nothing can be done before the last 10 kilometers. I'm glad I offered a contract to that boy, and I assure you that he will prove it more than once.

A New Sponsor
On the eve of the Vattenfall Cyclassics, the Dutch team Giant - Shimano announced a new secondary sponsor. The new sponsor chose an interesting date to show up as it is the German Company Allianz that will replace Shimano. Concerning the transfers, some new German Riders should sign with the team. Rumors are already putting Rick Zabel in the team next year.

Vattenfall Cyclassics

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0001_zpsfc464985.jpg

The Squad:

J.Degenkolb
D.Devenyns
R.Janse Van Reinsburg
M.Kittel
A.Louveille
T.Ludvigsson
R.Sinkeldam
T.Stamsnijder

Pre-Race:

John was the leader today, he was in better shape than Marcel and he has a better approach of such a race.
I was given a free role, I was not forced to work for my leader and after my recent win in Belgium they wanted to see what I was able to do in a classic.

Race Report:

The race was quite long but for a WT classic I should say that the length was not the worst. Everyone team wanted someone in the breakaway and the first kilometers were really painful. OPQS and Belkin were riding hard to avoid too many attackers but it did not stop many of them.

Only three riders managed to create a gap and to keep it, Manuel Quinziato ( BMC), Martin Elmiger ( IAM) and Christophe Le Mével ( COF) were off for a very long day.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0002_zps6b046a44.jpg

Finally the pack slow down a bit and I was able to breath a little. OPQS was making the pace but they had no intention to catch the three men right now.
They let them a lead of 7' before starting to come back on them.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0003_zpsde74dbd9.jpg

Vasil Kiryienka ( SKY) attacked with 35 kilometers to go. Grégory Rast ( TFR) did not wait longer to counter him, they were now two riders between the pack and the breakaway.

They did not last long in front of the pack as OPQS as starting to impose a very fast pace. many riders failed to follow the rhythm and it led to the reducing of the riders in the pack, we were now only 62 in the chase of the breakaway.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0004_zpsfebc5378.jpg

Luis León Sánchez Gil ( CJR) also tried to anticipate the sprint and this time, this not OPQS that brought him back but Tobias Ludvigsson. We were already preparing the sprint of John Degenkolb. And to top that, Mark Cavendish ( OPQ) had only one team mate left in the group.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0005_zpsb06433bf.jpg

There were 15 kilometers left when we caught 2 of the breakaway riders. Martin Elminger ( IAM) was 44" ahead the pack but the other teams stop chasing and he was gaining time. Instead of chasing him, my manager asked me to go on, so I did. After my race in the Eneco Tour I was expected an immediate answer, but nothing happened I had the green light.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0006_zps0399b013.jpg

I had no problem to catch Martin Elminger and to leave where he was, but the pack was now coming closer. I had only a lead of 9" 5 kilometers from the finish. I was not full gas yet so I started to accelerate. I was gaining ground on them but it was not enough to believe in the victory.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0007_zpsbadb9799.jpg

Two kilometers left, the victory is at the end of the road. My lead over the pack was now 21" but Jürgen Roelandts ( LTB) was 6" behind me, I was almost empty and I did not want to fail now, I gave all I had left in the last two kilometers but would it be enough?

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/03%20Vattenfall/PCM0008_zps4f9b39c7.jpg

Cavendish was very fast and he started from very far, he had John in his wheel and he quickly joined Jurgen Roelandts. I was suffering hopping for the victory and I saw the line, it was close, Mark was not there yet I was the winner this was now a certitude I raised my arm so high I thought I would fall but no, I won my first classic ever!!!

All my team mates congratulate me, I had phone calls from my former mates of FDJ and many tweets too Grin.
I will next race the GP Ouest France - Plouay but before that I will make a stop in the Memorial Rik Van Steenbergen.

The Squad:

J.Degenkolb
D.Devenyns
S.Geschke
R.Janse Van Rensburg
A.Louveille
T.Ludvigsson
G.Preidler
R.Sinkeldam

Pre-Race:

A Word Tour Classic at home, I had so many expectation today and I wanted to try like in Germany. Of course, if I fail to do my show, I will be helping John in case of a sprint. Simon and Georg may also try take chances.

Race Report:

The race started really fast, many teams wanted someone in the break and if they were not in the attacks, they had to chase to allow one of their riders to leave. This lasted at list 40 kilometers. Then a group of 4 strong riders got away and they finally made a gap.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0004_zps9d0c8d24.jpg

The teams leading the peloton were FDJ.fr, Accent.Jobs - Wanty and Giant - Shimano. We each had a leader to bring toward the finish and having Bradley Wiggins ( SKY) at the front was not a good thing.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0005_zpsd7fb5f8a.jpg

While the four men were fighting to keep their advance, many riders tried to anticipate the sprint. Alexandre Pichot ( EUC) and Sylvain Chavanel ( IAM) tried too but the reaction of FDJ's riders was instantaneous.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0006_zpsbccbb785.jpg

There was an attack that last longer, they almost caught the 4 men of the front, Mikhail Ignatiev ( KAT), Sylvain Chavanel ( IAM) and Yoann Offredo ( FDJ) were too dangerous so Dries Devenyns had to brought them back and the breakaway with them at the same time.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0007_zps1d4bb6e4.jpg

We decided to lock the leaving and we took the entire control of the pack, the pace was high and many riders at the back struggled to stay in touch with the group. Dries Devenyns made an amazing work to end the stage in a sprint.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0009_zps2fd1f615.jpg

In the last two kilometers we were headed toward the sprint, I was in second position behind Simon Geschke, John was supposed to be behind me but instead it was Mickael Delage ( FDJ).
John was not far but he had troubles to keep his position.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/04%20Plouay/PCM0010_zps10ab3615.jpg

When I realized that john would not make it, I decided to play my own card, I waited too launch the sprint and nobody anticipated my move, I was worried about the capacities Mickael Delage ( FDJ) in a sprint but he looked like he was a bit tired. I then started to sprint hopping to be the fastest and again I was, I took another perfect victory for me and for the sponsor.

I'm leaving in a dream right now, first the Eneco Tour, then the Vattenfall Cyclassics and now the GP Ouest France - Plouay. I'm not sure yet if this is real or not but if this is I am the happiest man on earth. I will prepare the Canadian Classics hopping to bring a new success to the team but the field might be a little harder.

Anthony Louveille.

Two more Great race wins for the team from Degenkolb in Belgium but even more special from Anthony at the GP Ouest France - Plouay Smile

@sutty68: Thanks sutty, I'm really triyng to be the best Grin

@Ian Butler: It's perhaps I'm fresher too, but I won't say those victories are not deserved Wink

@welker3257: Degenkolb got the points ranking in the Giro that's not something I could have done, we are not the same riders we cannot compare Grin

@all: I will not be able to report until this week end but some great races are coming Grin

The race was hard to handle and my mind is already in Canada. I did the job I had to do, this led John to the 3rd position and Marcel to the 4th. Mark Cavendish ( OPQ) took the win, Nacer Bouhanni ( FDJ) ended 2nd.

Quite a similar profile to Paris - Bruxelles, the plan was the same and it ended better. Mark Cavendish ( OPQ) won again but John manged to compete for the second position. Arnaud Démare ( FDJ) ended third.

Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0001_zps94f34d03.jpg

The Squad:

J.Degenkolb
D.Devenyns
S.Geschke
C.Ji
A.Louveille
F.Ludvigsson
T.Ludvigsson
G.Preidler

Pre-Race:

I know I'm in top shape right now but so is John and I really don't want to mess with my team mates. We agreed to work for John in Quebec and my Time will come in Montreal. I'm more than happy with that since I was not expecting the leadership that soon.

Race Report:

It's not usual to have a World Tour Classic on a circuit, but at list it was easier for us to prepare the race. We had decided to get a rider in the breakaway so it would not be our work to chase.

Georg Preidler ( GNT) went in a three men breakaway. His colleagues were Giampaolo Caruso ( KAT) and Dominik Nerz ( BMC).

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0002_zps12dfcc64.jpg

The pack was not really pleased with these men at the front but there were so many team that wanted to take control of the pack. As a results, the gap quickly raised to 8' and it was now time to really chase. Trek Factory Racing sent their men to the front and it made the gap decrease.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0003_zpsb1948230.jpg

34 kilometers left, my former team mate Arthur Vichot ( FDJ) attacked. He was really strong and he won last year the race in Montreal. We decided to chase with Tobias Ludvigsson ( GNT). It was hard to bring him back but with the help of Trek we did it.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0004_zps365616ad.jpg

When Arthur came back in the pack, three other riders decided to give us a hard time. Filippo Pozzato ( LAM), Yoann Offredo ( FDJ) and Gediminas Bagdonas ( ALM) managed to work together and they almost reach the 1'. Dries Devenyns ( GNT) worked hard behind them. And he brought back Yoann Offredo ( FDJ) and Gediminas Bagdonas ( ALM).

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0005_zps334ee14b.jpg

While Dries Devenyns ( GNT) was chasing the last man at front, I was bringing John Degenkolb ( GNT) to the front. This time I have checked if he was not too far but he did not get any troubles getting my wheel.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0006_zps945df8c0.jpg

I was not afraid of the finish, they might have riders in front of us, they had spent too much energy staying there. I launched John perfectly. The failure was not possible and other teams understood it.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2015/06%20Quebec/PCM0007_zpsc579949e.jpg

John jumped off my wheel with 250 meters left and he took a logic victory. As I had still some resources I continued my sprint getting the second position.

Today it was a team victory, John did what he had to do and I hope I will do it in Montreal too. I have some pressure now but once the race will start it will be okay. I have great team mates to help me and I will do everything in my power to bring another victory to the team.

Anthony Louveille.
