sgdanny: Right now there is a Polish national team at the brutto list, but it's sitting on one of the last spots.

Doesn't getting rid of Nazis make Germany a good call?

Having looked through some things the following have been permitted to enter:

- Pretty much the entire Africa. South Africa will get one team and the others will get one team together. One of the eligible riders are riding elswhere than MTN...

- Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will get a team together as the Baltic Way as a reference to their peaceful attempt where two million people joined hands creating a chain of people

- Iceland saw it's moment to declare independence from Denmark while the latter was occupied by Nazi Germany thus getting independence without blooshed.

- Ireland. The exact time Ireland got independent is up for discussion. All of the possible dates are either within the last 100 years or still out in the future making them eligible for the races.

- Asian former colonies. Since all riders from the eligible nations are riding for Champion Systems and none of them can field more than one rider they will group together in their usual team suit.

- Slovenia split out of Yugoslavia before things got ugly and started falling apart thus avoiding the dark shadow that lies over most of the rest of the former Yougoslavia.

- Poland is an old and proud country that for many years was occupied by first the Germans and later the Soviets. By it's insisting on independence and local democracy they brought the Soviet empire to it's fall. Poland will get two teams. One for CCC-poles and one for non-CCC Poles.

Apart from that the riders and teams eligible for last years EHST will obviously be invited back in. Since there are so many Flemish riders they will be subject to age restrictions as well.

All of ths of course depends on the managers allowing the riders to take part so at the end of the transfer season all teams with eligible riders will be contacted to discuss the details.

As Euskadi is still the heart of the series we will continue the principle of havin every second race in Euskadi and the others in the home regions of the other teams.

New Riders Joining the Famliy

We have just signed four riders to help us out next year.

Imanoel Erviti rode for Movistar last year and has been signed mainly ofr our cobbles squad where he will be a welcome addition since he is the second best Basque cobbler there is.

Speaking of cobblers we have signed our Catalonian brother Xavier Florencio after not having been able to land a deal with a suitable Flemish rider. He is not bad in wither cobbles, hills or on the flat and can even help in the finale of a race. With his experience he will be given the task of keeping Rudy away from trouble next year and the two will get a lot of days racing together,

Next we have a rider that impressed especially in the first half of EHST in spite of not having any teammates. Arkaitz Durán is the born nreakaway rider with enough punch to get away and decent skills on both flats and inclines. After a number of good performances he derserves a chance at this level.

Finally we have signed a man of tomorrow in Haritz Orbe. How he will develop is hard to say except that he will never be either a cobbler or a TT'er. Everything else is still possible for this talent. We just need to find out what he wants.

We have also been in takls with an old friend of the team that would like to come back, but at the moment those talks have come to a halt as we're at our max number of riders.

Saying Goodbuy

After some lengthy discussions Adrián Sáez de Arregi have decided to leave us after two years as a pro with few highlights. We wish him teh best of luck in the future whatever it may bring, while we also appreciate him being realisitc enough to make room for riders wanting it more than him.

Lately Juan José Oroz have also been a bit gloomy after several of his old friends have left us. Especially the departures of Samuel and Urtasun, who he even rode with as a neopro with on Team Kaiku back in 2006 seem to have taken him hard. Hearing us deny a good friend a hoomecoming seems to have made him think. So we're listening to offers and suggestions since we want him to be happy.

I actually hope Haritz Orbe will enjoy a breakthrough this year or the next IRL. Smile

Transfer News

As mentioned in our last bulletin Juan José Oroz wasn't too happy that some of his old friends have left the team. Now he have been able to follow Samuel to Movistar.

That left place for an old friend to return, though things almost got complicated in the process.
We are very happy to welcome home the best Basque sprinter in modern cycling history, though he haven't been quite himself while riding for Garmin the last couple of seasons. Koldo Fernández will mainly be given the task of mentoring young Sanz.
