They are gonna have a downright dumb team in 3-4 years time. |

Well, Haig, Edmondson and Power look all promising.
Then add riders that are still very young like Ewan, Cort Nielsen or the Yates brothers.
I didn't imply you exaggerated. I implied you understated.

Yesterday's result from La Côte Picarde
Also Willi Willwohl (german u23 rider) won the first stage of Tour de Loir et Cher (2.2).

Guillaume Martin (was FDJ trainee last year) wins LBL espoirs after an attack with 13k to go.
Herklotz (insert tiny banana) and Hart tried to follow a few minutes later, but couldn't quite catch up and decided the podium spots between themselves.
By the way, the finish line here is actually in a velodrome a couple of kilometres after the one for the pros.

Martin doing a Turgis from last season. A complete surprise winner once again really, a big step from anything he's done before. |

You want riders under the age of 23 or riders riding u23 races in 2015?
Weird schoolproject btw.

The group with Martin earlier in the race crossed a closed railway gate, while the peloton including Herklotz had to wait.
Later on when Martin was caught again and the next first group including Herklotz was in front, they were shown a wrong route, while the riders behind including Martin came back due to riding the correct route.
Herklotz had to work basically alone as Tao Geoghegan Hart did not support him really.
Quite a pity for Herklotz today as he looked very strong.

A shame, but that bodes well for Frankfurt which should be his most obvious opportunity to impress the public because of the TV coverage, and then Bayern Rundfahrt, although they basically got rid of any meaningful hills (at least compared to the impact of the TT) in the route this year for whatever reason...

Unfortunately Herklotz won`t race in Frankfurt.
He is instead heading to the Carpathian Courier (2.2U) in Poland, which clashes with Frankfurt.
He said that going to a stage racer suits his schedule a lot more than another classic.
He though won Rund um Düren yesterday. 27s solo ahead of team mate Nils Politt, who won the sprint of the next riders. |

Just saw his post, and I don't get it a tiny bit.
He can't contest Bayern this year with their flat route, and the first 5 of 6 Carpathian stages are prologue + 4 flat stages, so unless that last stage is an obvious queen stage, it can't be a decision towards more scoring potential either.
The next hilly stuff on Stölting's calendar is Valle d'Aosta and Tour d'Alsace in mid-July again, so this should be the end of his first season peak.

Profile wise indeed it`s a weird decision.
But I guess as the Bayern-Rundfahrt is the biggest German stage race, they want to present themselves a lot there by sending their best rider. No matter the chances in the GC actually.
Wasn`t Herklotz below his potential in last years stage races? Eventually he wants to get some better legs for one week races this year for his season highlights in those July races. |

I guess he could go for the KoM in Bayern which would certainly be great for Stölting, but riding as an outright team captain there won't work. I'm actually inclined to believe Kämna can get a better overall there.
We'll see how it works out, it's always easy to judge those decisions the wrong way if you're not involved.
Well, he didn't perform well in summer and fall, but I'd take 3rd in Szlakiem Grodòw Piastowskich (2.1) and 6th in Luxembourg (2.HC) over a couple of good 2.2 races later in the season any day of the week.
