It's wet and rain, hopefully it clears up before the riders get into Cassel.



Dimitri Champion brings us the first attack of the evening.



He is joined by Bertogliati, Lund, and Huguet before the start of climbs.



As they hit the cobbles for the first time the lead is 5'41".



With the rain coming down harder then ever,
Gert Steegmans sets off to catch the leaders with 100kms to go.



Shortly after the first major split occurs leaving 86 riders in the peloton.



Then just about a lap latter from when Steegmans attack,
Amorison makes it 6 men out in front of the peloton. 85kms to go.



A lap later at the same popular spot Coyot now attacks.
Steegmans has also just reached the 4 leaders.



As they reach the cobbled section with 70km to go Amorison joins the leaders,
Coyot is playing catch-up 2 minutes back
with the peloton 2 minutes behind him.



It takes Coyot just 7kms to bridge the 2 minute gap,
the peloton is still lurking 4 minutes back.



50kms to go the lead has slowly dropped to 3'15".



Björn Leukemans shows his cards with 30kms to go,
the breakaway still holds a 2'15" advantage.



This forces FDJ to now play their move and force the tempo,
this leaves 15 riders in the peloton!



Leukemans makes the connection with 19kms to go.



But after Leukemans joins the group nobody wants to help the race favourite
so everyone stops working. This allows FDJ to cut the gap down
to a minute before Champion decides he still wants to win this race.



But it's no avail is Leukemans powers right past him when they
reach the cobbled climb for the second to last time.
The 15 man group driven by FDJ have now enter the picture.



As the FDJ group makes the catch with 15kms to go,
muddy and dirty Leukemans has sneaked away!



Realizing this Chainel, Offredo, and Scheirlinckx have formed
their own chase group after reeling in the other breakaway members.



Behind them it Mondory and De Waele
breaking off from the newly formed peloton.



But all eyes are Leukemans as he hits the cobbled climb one last time,
Chainel, Offredo, and Scheirlinckx are in reaching distance!



Chainel has done all he can do, so Offredo is now
on a mad sprint to chase Leukemans down before the line!



But it wasn't enough Björn Leukemans takes a well deserved victory.
FDJ goes 2-3 with Offredo and Chainel with Scheirlinckx getting 4th.



Mondory rounds out the top 5, which leaves De Waele with 6th.
