Sagan is a beast indeed this year. In my careers he never seems to get any stronger, strange.
A nice win for Costa that was |

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
So today we start the cobbles classics with the mythic race on East Flanders. It's the first time that Movistar comes here with some chances as Flecha is on the squad.
Full Movistar roaster:
- Juan Antonio Flecha
- Jose Joaquin Rojas
- Francisco Jose Ventoso
- Imanol Erviti
- Giovanni Visconti
- Ignatas Konovalovas
- Sebastien Rosseler
- Guillaume Van Keirsbulck
The best cobblers will be here with Boonen and a superb Omega Pharma- Quickstep team behind him with Chavanel, Terpstra and Nuyens. Cancellara, Vanmarcke, Van Summeren, Ballan, Breschel, Hushovd and Langeveld are also there.
Race Report
And the first cobble section is here with a 9 men group with 4' on the peloton and still 130 km from the finish.
As we go through the 2nd cobble section a dangerous 3 men group has left the peloton. With 80 km to go Scheirlinckx, Modory and Steegmans are trying to create a gap.
With 35 km to go the peloton is reduced to 68 men and there are 3 groups at the front, the race leaders have about 2 minutes on the peloton.
Vanmarcke attacks with 25 km to go and Flecha tries to go with him. Ballan soon will join them.
On the last cobble section of the day everybody is getting caught and it seems that a 40 men group will go for the final 18 km of the stage.
And Chavanel attacks with 11 km to go. What Boonen has to say about this? There are 5 OPQS men on the 30 men group. This attack will make the other teams work.
With 5 km to go Chavanel has an interesting advantage...
The final sprint is launched as Chavanel is caught. Pozzato goes really strong with Boonen coming from the right. Flecha is also trying to go for it with Rojas on his wheel...
...Boonen seems unbeatable as Flecha passes through Pozzato who seems to have gone to early...
...and Boonen wins with Vanmarcke coming from behind for second place. Rojas and Flecha are third and fourth.

Oh my, i've just screwed up Agostinho story file as i installed the 2006 db and now i can't continue this story. Joaquim Agostinho will still be on Ultimate Cafe Pedro Cycling League for now on the Credit Suisse team. I will start a new story using 2006 db. If someday i can fix this than maybe Joaquim Agostinho story will return. Thanks to all people that read and comment on this thread, it was my first one, so i'll be back with a (i hope) better story.
Special thanks to Ian Butler for all the tips and learning he gave me, and to sutty68 for all the comments. |
